Re-Animated

I went to Border's yesterday, just wandering around and was pleased to see they finally have their horror DVDs sectioned off by themselves. Know why? There's too damn many of them! HA!

So anyway, I was browsing through them, and POW! right in front of me is 'Re-Animator'. I have been assured this movie was out of print, but there it was. Herbert West starring me down, daring me to buy it.

So I did.

God I love this movie. Just wanted to sing it's praises for a moment. Thank you.

One of the best of the 80's.

Or any other decade.

Any features?

I love Borders, but the one near me lables their sections with small type label makers, on the shelves (which are an inch shorter than the DVD's clear theft-protection cases, making it harder to read)...and since they have so many divisions (Sci Fi. Sci Fi Horror. Horror. Historical Fiction. Cult films. Classic Films. Cult Classics. Cult Sc-Fi Classics. Richard Simmons. Classic cult sci-fi historical comedies that were so bad they became horror films. British. And so on), it takes forever to find anything.

Re-Animator truly helped turn me into the goremonger I am today. Along with Romero's trilogy, it is one of the movies responsible for my horror fanaticism as I grew into a blossoming Girlcreeture, only I wanted BLOOD along with the scares I was already helplessly in love with .
Sigh, I remeber the first time I saw it. I was at some ridiculously boring B-Day party for a young yuppie named Chip (teehee) and some nether God had graced the tele with the beauty of Herbert. Needless to say I ignored everyone at the party and sat glued to the screen for the whole movie, then I watched the kid's snake eat live mice for a while.

It's creeture, not creature.
And the answer is simple.

LESBO MUD WRESTLING!!!

Ahem. So I knew upon buying the movie last night that I would learn of another release of it coming soon. That's just the way. Luckily, the Anchor Bay site has no info, so I can live in ignorance for now.

Let's see, does Miss Hastur like Chinese food, tequila, roller coasters, graveyards, and questionable conversation in public? We could have a grand girls night out methinks

I think I'd go through a gender operation just to be a part of that evening!
I have a filter on my web browser that corrects typos, so I never saw the spelling difference.

"Let's see, does Miss Hastur like Chinese food"
Yes. I've gotten her down to ordering take-out to once a week, usually when Buffy is on, for some reason.

"tequila"
Probably.

"roller coasters"
Like? No. Live for? Yes.
Minor aside...many of you know I had amnesia 10 years ago. Since that time, since I don't remember pre-drinking-age theme parks, I've had no less than 4 girlfriends swear they had to take me. One was when we lived a quarter mile from one. Another had tickets, but broke up with me (The classic "You're too nice" schtick, only in her case it may have been true, since she evidently loves to argue) before we could go, and took my roommate instead...who she proceeded to fight with.
A year and a half ago, Hastur became the first one to actually DO it.

"graveyards"
I think she checks out any place we plan to move to, to see if it was built over an old indian burial ground.

"and questionable conversation in public?"
She lives for "freaking the mundanes." I have to chain her down to avoid her inviting the Morman pitbulls in to try to convert them to the OLD TIME religions (when we were moving, she wanted to drag the corner preacher in to have him help us pack). If there are children nearby at a resturant, she'll talk about having them as hor'd'vors.
She's very pro-animal, but recently took an 18yr old fur-protester by the cheeks and very sweetly told her to get a life.
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

I don't mud wrestle. I con a 16 year old boxed blonde with a degree in cheerleading/basketweaving to do it for me. For some reason, the audience will pay more when I do that. Hrmmmm...

Girlcreeture: We have to meet. That's it. I am sacrificing a couple of 3rd Graders to the Car Gods so we can get to a convention at the same time. Wanna do GenCon and Devive with me?

JB: I guess that I shouldn't tell you that re-animator juice is a part of every Halloween Party I throw, should I?

Ooooh. A con meeting sounds fun. Where be GenCon? I'll gladly offer some wee ones to arrange a meeting, hell, my company photographs the little hellions, I've got over 250 schools to choose from!

Anyhoo, like I said, I dunno where GenCon is, but I'm planning on hitting the Fango WoH this Spring in NYC otherwise

Re-Animator juice sounds yuuummmmy........

Milwalkee, usually in August.

GenCon is the Mecca of Gaming. I believe that a few years back they did have Jeffrey Combs as one of their guests. He was supposed to be doing the Star Trek bit, but all the audience kept asking about his film career. *snarf*
http://www.wizards.com/gencon/2001/

You can poke around from there to find out what's going on. This year, I get to help with the Chaosium 20th anniversary party. Hmmm... I wonder if they would be willing to see about bringing Mr Combs in.....?

And reanimator juice is yummy! It gives you that extra boost of energy you need to properly disembowel your enemies first thing in the morning.

Sounds like fun. I don't really game, but I love going to cons and such. And if Jeffrey Combs is a guestwhat a plus that would be
It's a bit far off, but something I shall definitely think about planning for.

Mmmmmm Re-Animator juice, what's the recipe? Or is it a guarded secret?

Fill a clear, odd looking container with Mountain Dew.

If you wish to thicken the dew to give it some more realistic texture, add lime jello to the soda, at half what the directions give, cover, and refrigerate for about an hour.

When you wish to serve it, drop a green glow stick into the container and turn down the lights. I swear to god it looks like the stuff in the movie.
