Do they do the thing from the comics where his father is just a total cunt to him and that's about the extent of characterization?

Maybe it was the actor playing him or the stuff with his dad, but Cyborg was the only one who didn't seem thrown in the movie at the last second.

It's hard to describe, it's just different with him.  I suppose he had the most interesting bits of business as a character... he's pretty heavily involved in the super weapon.

The Cyborg stuff and the parademons and mother boxes makes me think this is heavily based on the New52 arc, I think you guys brought up that animated Justice League War movie which was the same story?

...  I don't care much for that story.

Is he as pathetic as Finn turned out?
I'll still probably see this.

Stay strong brother.

I think I'll wear my Justice League Converse hi-tops.

Was he as bad as the other only black character in a completely different movie?

Have you stopped beating your wife?

Absurd.

She's not my wife.
Can you guys stink up one of the multitudinous Star Wars threads with your dumb Star Wars vendettas?
If Batman can spill over in other threads then so can star war.
I can't wait to see this. I'm bout to drive by the theater. Maybe it'll be playing earlier than I expect it to. I don't feel up for a midnighter tonight..

Say I could do a screening tonight if I wanted too couldn't I...

Gym or Justice League?

You don't need to go to the gym tonight. You're looking proper clutch, son. To Justice League with thee.

I'm going to cosplay as shirtless chubby Kirk all the way to the theater!

40 percent on RT or not I can't stay away from this thing for long.  I have to know.

You do. And we now know that you have to know, so let us know what you know when you actually know it.

Bradi is going to be SO upset with me when I lay into this bad boy for months.

If I don't like this, I'll walk into the sea.

But maybe, when you let go of your desire to like this, you will achive true oneness with the universe, adn you'll walk ON the sea.

Walk on the sea in my Justice League shoes.

I get where Ambler's coming from.  Cyborg's the only one who really has an arc for himself.

I mean, I gotta.

Im still amazed by how poorly secret identities and superhero names are handled in this movie.

And Im betting the scenes in question that bothered me with this are all Whedon's

They are so embarrassed by their code names that they would rather their enemies know where they live than be called Wonder Woman and The Flash.

Not just that:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Bruce Wayne goes to recruit Aquaman to a remote village, where people speak english.
Aquaman even calls him Bruce Wayne before leaving.
Barry Allen outs Bruce again outside his private jet, with crew around.
But the stupidest one is Superman's; after he is resurrected and wakes up confused and hostile, Lois appears (having being called by Bruce) and yells his name...and then he hugs her and they fly away. In the middle of a park, with several cops around them.

I mean, maybe they dont use the codenames because Luthor has them trademarked or something, but the secret identities thing is dumb as hell.

They aren't, since the location stuff with Aquaman and the Heroes Park scene were both shot by Snyder.

But Whedon did reshoots and changes. Look at the first trailer for the film.

That scene of Cyborg tackling a rolling tank so it doesnt hit a policeman? Not in the movie, and I bet it was from

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Snyder's original "Superman revives but goes berserk" sequence.

Same for the aquaman stuff; Affleck's weight/mass difference is a dead tell.

Just check the first trailer:

A lot of it doesnt show up in the actual film.

Yeah, but I saw a test screening of this two months ago.  The Snyder stuff was basically finished, including most of the action - the history lesson, the sewer scene, fighting Superman, etc.  The Whedon stuff was still very rough, with unshaded FX at best (and Premium Superman Mustache™).

The fight with Superman at the park was done.  No unshaded FX, no Cavill mustache.  Whedon didn't shoot anything for it.

Ok, I see.

Still, its pretty weird how much of that trailer isnt in the movie.

Seems Cyborg got a lot of his stuff cut.

Apparently they softened Cyborg.  I also think Superman was course-corrected from BVS in reshoots; my gut says he stayed confused and was an antagonist in this movie (which would explain why they cut him throwing cars at cops - they were walking a lot of that stuff back).

That makes sense, but seems Cyborg had a lot of scenes; we dont get gim playing football, the flying/helmet scene, the tank scene.

Ditto for Flash body slamming that parademon, Cyborg's dad discovering the active motherbox in the apartment and so on.

Is there a comprehensive breakdown of what the film originally was like before heavy rewriting/reshoots?
So is that why Flash goes back in time in BvS, to tell Bruce to find Lois and pull a "sun's gettin' real low" with berserk Supes?

I always figured that was building to a big Injustice storyline, where Lois gets killed and Superman's the final big bad for the DCEU.

Flash goes back in time to tell Batman that he should definitely hang in there for some arbitrary future movie that's definitely going to be very marketable.

"So you're from a timeline where all these movies were planned out in advance and will organically build up to that penultimate event?"

"Yeah."

"Please take me with you."

You can appreciate the really flat digital reshoot photography in all its splendor!

(I don't blame anyone.  They just didn't have enough time.  WB should've delayed this until March.)

Maybe I will!

A few hours later....
