That's really unfortunate.  It sounds like he was intentionally sidelined on THE FORCE AWAKENS, then shut-out all together.  Odd.

Yeah, that's pretty sad. The guy's a living legend and deserves more respect.

Damn, that's tragic.

THAT'S DIZNEE

Burtt's also the guy who cut Williams' Ep II score to shit and buried the Death Star attack music in the 2004 DVD because he thought sound FX were more important.

oh I certainly thought about those butting of heads and whatnot too (hahaha oh man, that pissed me off)

but it doesn't change the sadness!  hahahah

These legends. Their quotes are astronomical!  You can get a dozen fresh grads who read these guy's books and attended their lectures for the same damn price.

BTW did you know I scratched the Bentley? Had to get the whole thing re covered.  Damn that gold leaf is expensive.

No question.  Lucas gave him too much control over the mixes and editing of the Prequels and the home video releases.

That does not negate his stellar work purely in the sound effects editing arena.

That really bugged me. Did the Blu rectify it?

I believe it did.

The Death Star moment?  Pretty sure I heard that the music was restored.

I wonder if he'll be back for Indy 5, as he was for CRYSTALL SKULL. If Indy's punches ever sound realistic I will pitch the biggest of nerd fits.

Realistic Indy 5 punches would sound like arthritic bones shattering into a thousand shards.

with Spielberg being the constant, he's gotta be right?

RIGHT???

Spielberg usually keeps loyal to his regulars so I'm sure he will be.

Spielberg seems like the kind of guy who would want to bring him back.
