Power of the Dork Side

Found this little video of an A/V geek doing his best Jedi impression. Sadly, I think he's doing the sound effects himself.
<a href="http://www.waxy.org/random/video/Star_Wars_Kid.wmv" target="_blank">Star Wars Geek</a>

And of course it takes the online community only two days to remix it and make it better. They even added special FX! I nearly shat myself.

Both courtesy of Waxy.org.

Jesus, fuckin loser. I like how a minute or so in he makes this "WOO SHE" sound. I half expected him to fall on his ass.

Holy Shit that was hysterical! I love that he has to do pirouettes to make sure he doesn't fall on his ass (where's the toe point?!) and that stops every 30 seconds, presumably, to catch his breath.

Thanks Momo, that was great!

I'm bumping this. I think more people need to see this guy.

It's a moral imperative.
You know, things like this do not usually amuse me, as I tend to look at them and just think what a quietly sad existence a kid like this must live. But holy shit. Even though I knew what the "remix" was going to do, I laughed out loud. Cruel, yet brilliant.
I passed those links on to at least 15 people. I could hear them laughing all the way across the office. And then, it spread. I started getting it back from people I didn't send it to....it's a beautiful thing. Like one of those crappy, shitty, chain letters, but good. Everyone loves it. Except for my wife, who felt bad for the kid.
That's just wrong on so many levels...
Looks like me teaching myself to use nunchakus as a teen, except with a lot less hitting himself in the back of the head. Lucky for me they were foam padded. I was, however, not stupid enough to video tape it.
That really made me feel sorry for the kid. You could tell he kept stopping it because he was out of breath.

And then the remix made me laugh hysterically and my morality and indignation went down the shitter.
That was fantastic. Yyou made my day Momo.

I think the funny thing is that he's either making lightsaber sounds when he's doing his piorettes or he's huffing so hard from the work-out he's giving himself.

Either way, you know this kid is being given hell at school now. I hope he knows how to swing that curtan rod like a pro by this point.

(edited because I can't spell good)

I just e-mailed it to a bunch of folks as well. I love the power of the internet!

This is going to be the highlite of my uneventful week, entertainment wise. I thank you Momotaro, and the fat kid of course.

I'm a horrible person. Everytime I see that remix one I laugh. I laugh really really hard.
I can't get enough of this. Does anyone know what the hell that yellow tarp is doing on the floor? He nearly kills himself when he stepped on it and it slid out from under him.
This made my day... I have a feeling this will haunt that kid forever.
I don't know about haunt. The remix is pretty fucking cool!

********UPDATE*********
The Star Wars Kid has been found, and Waxy.org as went as far as to ask him some questions. Ok, nothing great, but nonetheless, this is closure for those of that have gotten attached to Star Wars Kid and his piorettes.
For those that want to check him out, you can click <a href="http://www.waxy.org/archive/2003/05/13/finding_.shtml" target="_blank">this</a> for a direct link to that page.

That is awesome.

I find the following to be quite funny as well.

John Lennon once said the beatles were bigger than jesus. however in a few short days Ghyslain has circled the globe - John could never have imagined this perhaps this is the internet epiphany? beyond clare swires beyond all the web myths.. beyond it all. truly Ghyslain has touched more hearts than the Big J guy. indictment of society? or a new Proletariat upswell?

you have got to love him and his ungainly ways. expect the Ghyslain 1:1 quotes on underpasses soon

Also they're buying him an ipod!

Well, once Star Wars got officially into the mix, it was only a matter of time before the hype became overwhelmingly over-the-top!

Besides, ASIANPRINCE4EVA!!!

The Force is so strong in this one that the thread must not die!

Apparently the folks at Space Ghost Coast to Coast caught this clip:

<a href="http://www.adultswim.com/webcam/gal_mov/sg_kid/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.adultswim.com/webcam/gal_mov/sg_kid/index.html</a>

A very faithful homage. I wonder if Space Ghost got an Ipod out of it?

It was only a matter of time...

... Star Wars Kid, MATRIX Edition:

<a href="http://www.citlink.net/~djfreeze/SWKR.wmv" target="_blank"> Star Wars Kid: Reloaded</a>

<img src="http://images.divx.com/tn/e/f4/578814m.jpg" alt="" />

Eh. Not as funny as a Reloaded skit.

Damn, some people have WAY too much time on their hands. But some of these are actually pretty darn clever:

That's okay... I just found the site below, which is compiling a list and links to ALL of the "Star Wars Kid" stuff:

Yeah, this has been doing the rounds at work for a week or so. I tried to find a link to it to post here, but - for some reason - searching for "deluded Star Wars geek" on the Internet doesn't narrow things down a whole lot.

I watched a few of them. None really compare to the original when we had no idea who he was and the first remix. The others are just lame imitators.

It is so typical of our culture to take a good thing and just saturate the market until it turns into shit.

How can you say that? Don't you realize that all your base are belong to Star Wars Kid?
Yes, it has officially hit overkill levels.

The worst, by far, is the Dancing Baby one. I refused to even link to that.

2.0 is my favorite, though... and the "Clone" one is actually very well done.
Those videos are so funny.

I still feel horrible for laughing so much. In fact I feel even more horrible for still laughing every time I see it. I mean, I was that kid once.

Why does the humiliation of others have to be so fucking funny?

You don't have a name like Werewolf Gurl without acknowledging some kind of personal transformation.

DEAR LORD... that's crazy. It's funny but damnit man I didn't laugh out of malice more out of embarrasment becuase I did the same shit as a kid.

That sucks if he had to drop out of school like that.

And a petition to get him in the next star wars flick? Just crazy.

Put him in a snuff film.

This got me thinking of other people in the past that have risen to short-lived fame because of some weird video clip or web site on the internet. Anyone else remember this guy?
