| BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A man was beaten by his wife, stepdaughter and two cousins in a surprise attack after he disconnected the stepdaughter's computer because she was using it without permission, police said. James Mays was taken to a Buffalo hospital with multiple injuries and a possible detached retina following the Sunday afternoon ambush. Police said Mays upset the 16-year-old girl by "cutting the wires" to the computer. After he left the house to pick up his wife at work, the girl called her mother and told her. The daughter, along with two of Mays' cousins _ a man and a woman _ were waiting for Mays when he returned home and began hitting his head, face and body with sticks. The wife joined the attack, police said. "Hold him down, don't let him get up!" the wife was quoted as saying in the police report. "I'm gonna call the police and have them take him away when they get here." Instead, the officers arrested Delores Mays, 40; her daughter, Precious Peoples; Geralinda McDuffie, 31 and Carlos Costner, 43. All were charged with felony gang assault. |
