TCM 31 Days of Oscars

The Schedule

I haven't seen many old movies. I have a hard time seeing new movies But Turner Classic Movies is doing a month long Oscar movie thang.. They have 31 days of nothing but Oscar nominated/winning movies. Has anyone been watching any of them? So far this is what I have seen:

The Dirty Dozen
From Here To Eternity
Lolita (1962)
Romeo & Juliet (1936)
Philadelphia
Fiddler On The Roof
Madam Bovary

Its so awesome, because these are all such old movies (except Philadelphia) that I normally wouldn't have watched. But I am making myself watch them and most are proving to be great indeed. Yay for old movies

double yay for old movies. Been watching some of these myself and love it when TCM & AMC have these sort of things...(I love AMC's classic horror mini-festivals)

Coming up this week is the 1935 version of "Mutiny on the Bounty". Have my VCR ready

Since when is 1993 considered old?

Let alone Green Card considered good?

Anyway while I probably won't watch any of the TCM flicks, - I hate feeling obligated to watch something at an exact time - I do have the following waiting to be watched on DVD:

American Graffiti (which I have seen. Many, many times)
Casablanca
The Great Escape
The Magnificent Seven
Rocky

And it's about time to watch The Maltese Falcon again...

On the plus side, I finally got to see The Great McGinty. On the minus side, I was kinda sleepy when it came on, so really I saw 45 minutes of The Great McGinty and 45 minutes of the inside of my eyelids. I might watch Interiors tomorrow night. It's the only Woody Allen (directed) film I haven't seen from Crimes and Misdemeanors back.

I usually print out the TCM schedule at the beginning of every month from their website and make notes of things I wanna see.

On the 29th, they're showing a film at 4:30am called King of the Zombies. I wonder what Oscar that was nominated for?
