The Filth sucks

Man, why am I reading this endless, senseless, boring tripe? Every idea is so half baked they seem like I could dig it if I was really stoned, maybe. Good art, but everything else is just BORING.

I'm putting a (more than likely) unhealthy amount of faith in the next issues to tie all the ideas together in spectacular fashion. But, yeah, it's just not as good as his other stuff right now.

Great covers, though. And that Spartacus Hughes has a great head of hair.

I love the covers. I think they keep tricking me into buying the book.

I'm glad they killed that fucking cat. I'm so sick of seeing Ned go back to being a regular guy for the cat.

Dealing with the death of his cat has been a constant theme for some strange reason in a majority of GM's major works. It kinda adds to the characterization of Feely as the anti-King Mob, but it's just kind of inane beyond that.

I like it, even if I don't get all of it right now. I'm sure that, much like The Invisibles, The Filth would benefit from multiple readings.

Yeah, I'm in total agreement here. Morrison is writing weird and off-the-wall just for the sake of being weird and off-the-wall. But at least it has purty pictures.

This book rocks. It has new deranged ideas on every page. Like any good Morrison book, plot is secondary.

No, all the best Morrison stuff has good plot, actually. Or some plot of some sort.

His run on Animal Man was a nigh-perfect fusion of story and out-there ideas.

Well, I can't quite understand why people continue buying and reading a book that they don't like. If it's so painful to you, let it go.

I bought The Crusades and American Century for a little while, realized they were ass, and stopped. It's just that easy.

I enjoy The Filth, with or without a coherent plot, so I'll keep buying it.

Nobody told you not to. Don't take it so personally.

I really like Crusades and American Century.

I can almost understand AC, but Crusades? Yikes.

I dont know. I have weird taste when it comes to comics. Although I've just started reading Y: The Last Man...and i really like it.

The series ends fairly decisively with issue #13. Having said that, the nature of the conclusion leaves the way open for more stories although it's unlikely that I'll ever tell them. I'm sure Slade and King Mob will eventually return and appear together with the Preacher and Lucifer in some future League of Extraordinary Gentlemen one hundred years from now when the copyright runs out and the only readers left are weird dome-headed cyborgs.

That is such a great quote.

I think the homestretch is gonna totally make the series worthwhile. I hope it does, atleast.

"Personally, I believe that if you can feel sympathy for a ridiculous superhero and not for an ordinary, lonely man tending a sick animal then there's something desperately wrong with your emotions and your priorities."

Or your storytelling, Grant. Feely is just not a likable character. He's flat out annoying.

I'm with you guys - I just don't get it or I just don't like it, I can't decide. But I get it every month, hoping I'll be able to put it together at the end.
I get it free, so screw it.
You know, I'm really not into Weston's art. Not even on Ellis' "Ministry of Space". But I did like that commie chimp. Nice headgear...

Not sure about anybody else, but I loved number nine. LOVED it.

I liked the concept but not the execution. This should have been issue three, first off.
I won't deny that. It should have been earlier, or this should have been an ongoing of sorts. But I'm glad we're finally getting some revelations, and I really, REALLY liked the way this one came out.
