Hey, all you anime fans with cable access, for the month of June Cinemax is running anime flicks every Sunday night at midnight. Tonight's is the classic "Ninja Scroll". They're also going to be showing "Wicked City" and "Vampire Hunter D", plus a couple others.

Here's the sked:

tonight - Ninja Scroll

June 11 - Goku 1 and Golgo 13: Queen Bee

June 18 - Wicked City

June 25 - Vampire Hunter D


Hopefully they'll consider doing this every month! There are tons of other great anime features I'd love to see show up on cable. Wings of Hommeamise, Gunsmith Cats, Ghost in the Shell, Sol Bianca, Nazca, Akira, Trigun, Eat Man, Kite, etc. etc. etc.

JUNE 18: WICKED CITY

This is my all time favourite, and midnight is appropriate. Sure, there's better art...there's better story...there's better characters...but somehow, this is still my favourite feature-length anime, with Entranger coming in second.

Wicked City is great, but I liked it better by it's original name---Ninja Scroll.

Look at the story similarities, the art similarities, the character silmilarities.

Spooky.
