I noticed this on Carl's list under "DVDs that are solidly rumored for release in the future or have already been announced for release." Carl, or anyone...can you give me some info on this? I was abotu to order the regualr versian but maybe I should wait.

Yeah, wait. New Line has confirmed that they will be bringing out a Platinum Edition sometime this year (right now, it looks like Summer...early Fall at latest).

I have the original "Seven" DVD and it's okay, but there are NO extras (except the trailer) and it's a @$!#@ flipper (meaning you have to flip the disc about 2/3 of the way through the film. I HATE that.)

Anyway, the Platinum Edition will be a dual-layered beauty (one-sided) with a new anamorphic transfer (which should look beautiful, because the first one was fine). Extras will include many of the same ones that were on the laserdisc:

Commentary with David Fincher and Brad Pitt (Morgan Freeman?)
Deleted Scenes
Behind-The-Scenes Feauturette(s)
Alternate Beginning and Ending
Trailers
A Photo Gallery containing the killers photos!
More, more, and MORE (the New Line sheet claims it will have supplements that were not on the laserdisc, plus the new transfer and new DD 5.1 sound mix).

Needless to say...WAIT for this one. I'll be sure to hollar as soon as I hear or see a solid release date. At one point, it was expected to come out around March or April, but that looks doubtful. Last I heard was June. In any case, it's coming soon... and it will be a friend.

I have the Criterion Laserdisc of SEVEN and the wait will be worth it. It's a winner.

"abotu to order the regualr versian": Phrase usually associated with computer programmers from Paris who blow goats for a hobby.
