Saw my first DVD a few weeks ago. The City of Lost Children. What a mindjob. This freaky-deaky thing would scare small children, so naturally, I liked it. Very beautiful sets. Great music. Ron Pearlman. I was very happy. The whole DVD experience was pretty cool. Right after the movie was over, I started it again with the audio commentary. I got about half-way through it before S-Mart-Ash started bitchin about playing Crazy Taxi. Oh, well. Crazy Taxi is a suitable alternative to anything.

City of Lost Children is one of my favorite films of all time. The sets, the lighting, the special effects, everything about it was tremendously cool.

I was so hyped when I heard the director was doing Alien Resurrection. It's a shame they didn't get a writer of the same caliber.

BTW, if you liked City, you should check out Delicatessen, it's by the same guys, and it is just as strange.

Yeah, Delcatesin was a cool fucking film, not as freaked out as 'City', but damn good none the less. And I thought 'Resurrection' was a damn fine film, especially considering what they had to work with. How can you not like Weaver all buffed and gettin it on with an Alien? Granted, the Newborn thing was a little lame, but what're you gonna do?

Hire James Cameron.

But anyway, I thought Resurrection was great. It was plain damn cool. The newborn thing made me cry, though. I couldn't believe they'd let the movie fall to shit like that. A CGI beast woulda worked better. Hell, a cartoon woulda worked better.

Anyway, aside from that, it was cool.

Why do all Aliens have to be sucked out into space? At least Alien3 had THAT going for it.

Some call it dramatic irony. I call it bullshit. Shoot em in the head and be done with it.
