My new edition of "Shallow Grave" came in the mail yesterday. And, man does it rock! Sexy new cover, widescreen, the whole bit. Of course the extras suck, but hey, it's still "Shallow Grave".

What is....this....Shallow Grave?

Ewan McGregor's first attack on us all. Danny Boyle, John Hodge, and Andrew MacDonald's first mutual foray into film (the group that made three damn good films with TRAINSPOTTING, A LIFE LESS ORDINARY, and THE BEACH).

It's a great film.

Shallow Grave was excdllent, anyone heard anything about one of Ewan's other films Nightwatch (such a great movie)coming to DVD?

I still can't get over that Danny Boyle did 'The Beach'. Was it really good? I never saw it.

I must see this... Shallow Grave... I loved Trainspotting and Life Less Ordinary!

I saw Shallow Grave, and I can tell you this movie is good. GREAT ending.

I think it's film #145 to use the title "Shallow Grave." It's tied for most used name. Right up there with "Blown Away."

Johnny,

I saw the Beach 4 times. I really really dug it.

And unfortuntately I haven't heard anything good about a Nightwatch DVD.

Excellent flick, and an astoundingly assured and confident feature debut from Boyle. There's some nice visual flourishes like some of the tracking tracking shots, the shot of the light coming through the holes made in the attic by Eccleston, and i love how the party scene is cut together with the scenes of torture. It's a nice tense film, and the three leads each bring something different while bouncing off each other well. The interviews with the prospective housemates at the beginning set them up as kind of assholish, whilst keeping them sympathetic by making them pretty funny and close knit, which makes their unravelling more effective.

And yeah, the last shot is a fucking doozy. Great fun.

After I heard Ewan was cast as the young Obi-Wan, I blazed through every McGregor film I could find. I remember seeing Shallow Grave, but I don't remember most of it. I need to see it again sometime.

Just tried to rent this from Netflix, they don't have it.....awesome.

Might as well just buy it. I think I got it for like $10 bucks years ago. It's a bare bones DVD, but it's a great flick.

DVD is out of print, but cheap.

Yeah, everyone should own this. McGregor is great - the guy has a big range (think this, Down With Love, Young Adam, Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge etc)and has charisma to burn.
