Anyone here have this game for the PSX? Is it worth getting?
This game royally sucks.

The graphics are pretty ok for their time, but the gameplay is horrible. If you have ever played Tomb Raider or Resident Evil, you will be very dissapointed in this game, which could have been a cool melding of the two.

The controls are really iffy, and the fighting gets really repetetive and frustrating and frustrating, and frustrating, and frustrating and then something comes outta nowhere and kills ya. Stay away, or at least rent it first.
I got it for free and I still don't play it because it is DICK. You want a good horror game? Try Clocktower.

Is that available for the PSX?

Okay, it's not, any suggestions on good horror games fro the PSX, outside of RE and Dino Crisis?

C'mon, no one has any suggestions at all? What about just plain good PSX games? Any Final Fantasy games DON'T count.
Clocktower is for the PSX.
I have very few PSX games. The one I buy are genre-defining killer aps in my estimation. Here's my cool picks-

Fighting games-you need only two
TEKKEN 3
SOULBLADE

Gun games-I love my GUNCON
TIME CRISIS
ELEMENTAL GEARBOLT

Other stuff-
ODDWORLD
LEGACY OF KAIN-SOUL REAVER

One and only WRESTLING GAME-
WWF ATTITUDE-even if you hate wrestling, you wil love this game. I hardly ever play it. Instead, I use the Create-a-Wrestler feature to build different people. If built myself, my friends, Ash, Snake Plissken, Darth Maul, Freddy, Jason, Jackie Chan, and tons of others-you can alter faces like a police composite-If you work hard enough, you can accomplish actual likenesses. Stunning.

Two games you need simply because BRUCE CAMPBELL voices the lead character-
PITFALL 3D:BEYOND THE JUNGLE-hard to control at times, but fun and cool, with demented monsters and good graphics.
BROKEN HELIX-one of my favorite games ever-if you dig up review of this title, you won't find a bad one. Resident Evil meets Tomb Raider with four different endings, awesome plot twists, nice/mean speaking (you choose whether to be cool or pissy to people when you talk to them, and it changes the outcome of the game-and sometimes people spit on you), the ability to stomp on people until they die, tons of weapons, and a great plot (you're a bomb disposal expert sent into Area 51-along with a platoon of Marines-to diffuse explosives set by a "mad" scientist who babbles about gov't cover-ups and horrible genetic experiments-oh and he knows your dad-a scientist who died under mysterious circumstances when you were a child. Oh, you may run into a reporter who the scientist smuggled in, either way, you have to decide who to help, how to act, and where to go)-I love this game, It's one of the best I've ever played.

And some good scares-
PARASITE EVE-genius
SILENT HILL-this game is scary, this game is creepy, and it has a vile taint. When you walk into the bathroom of a school to discover a crucified, rotting cor-uh, never mind-go get it.

Those are the games I like. I promise you will love Silent Hill and Broken Helix-which if you look hard, can be found NEW for about $10.00.

Hope I helped...

Well, thanks the the wonders of technology, none of those games will cost me more than $3 (MOD-CHIP, baby), but those are some kick-ass suggestions. Thanks a lot!

Clock Tower was mentioned again here. Yee-ha. I swear it's a horror movie in a game. I could EASILY write a screenplay for this.

Did anybody know that this was a sequel? I know the story played out like it was, but I didn't realize it actually WAS a sequel. The reason it wasn't mentioned anywhere? The first was for Super Famicon (Japanese version of SNES). Can't advertize that on a Playstation. Anyway, the name of it was "Clock Tower: The First Fear." I would rape, pillage, and murder to get this game.

I've gotten all endings and hints for Clock Tower and the ??? is still locked up. Any ideas?
Ok, I have to agree that Nightmare Creatures sucked the hairy root, but I have to say that Clock Tower was so disappointing!!! I bought it when it was released and the whole mouse pointer style controls was irritating because it created difficult game play and the repetiveness of some sequences was very annoying as well, it's supposed to be difficult and full of brain teasers but when you finally figure out what to do for a certain scene you come back to the whole use your mouse pointer controls to maneuver, etc. etc. This style of game play I think is only suitable for PC games, and stuff like Myst and Discworld. It's sad because the story was great as well as the graphics.
Silent Hill on the other hand and Parasite Eve were both excellent for game play and storyline with killer graphics, another really fun one is Syphon Filter 2, it's got a 2 player mode where you have to assasinate your opponent that's really very fun. And on the strategy front, WarCraft 2 is one of my faves and it's completely addictive.

God, you like video games too! are you some kind of angel?
Ever hear that song by Slayer? Nah, just kidding, I try to have as much home entertainment fun as possible, its important! Just got a great flashback the other day too, I found an MP3 for the Super Mario Bros. theme! Very amusing, also, a note on the mod chip, I just rented a new game, I think it was Wild Arms 2 and it wouldn't play because I had a chip installed! A message came up saying that since my machine had been modified, the game was unplayable. Called the 800 # on the booklet and the lady said all the new games will be coming out this way, bummer since I usually rent before I get something burned.

You have to be lying. I just got the damn chip, it can't be! Of course, I got the newest one from mod-chip.com, which is supposed to be undectable, and I've had no problems with it yet. I guess I'll find out for sure when the new Star Wars game comes out. And you are an angel.
Damn! All this talk of angels and what not, I'm not even gonna look at other message boards!

Damn straight. Now, Silent Hill is a great game, it always will be one of the FREAKIEST games I have ever played. I used to own a N64, and it is a pussy system, especially if you like gore, and I LIKE GORE. Anyone have an opinion on Medevil (sp?). I know it's not gore, but is it worth renting/owning?
Medievil is REALLY REALLY fun, I don't own it but I'd probably buy it used or sumpthin, it's a very mindless little adventure game, cute is a word that comes to mind.

Yes! That movie was really damn cool, especailly for a Full Moon entry. I did a review for it for the last Creature Corner, but it got lost in the shuffle of CHUD somehow. Too bad, to, cause now no one'll know about it but us. Oh well.
Of course, that was just me impersonating JASON LEE in Chasing Amy...

Jesus, HAM, where you been? And what the fuck are you talking about?
Yeah, what are you talking about?
And I think it (Dead Hate the Living)was good was because it wasn't shot on location in Romania and Charles Band did nothing but distribute, Full Moon has definitley lost their touch, Witch House was god-awful, ugh.

I've purposley avoided Full Moon for years now, but I just couldn't resist a freakin zombie movie. It's a weakness.

I KNOW your kidding silly! But kidding or not, my ass will not be for yours for the kicking kiddies. I fear nothing! But pink and flowered bellbottoms tend to make me all screamy like a little bitch, so I dare you wear the garb of Drew Barrymore!

'silly'? What kind of tough ass bitch that thinks she could take two rock-n-rolls hardasses uses the word 'silly'? Damn, I was wrong about you, obviously.

Wow, if I wasn't such a good natured fellow, I would almost take that personally. Lets all just kiss and make up. C'mon, HAM? We can let down our 'tough guy' persona long enough to kiss and make up with this creeture, can't we? I think so....

Oh, and when did we say we were famous? I confused

(Tosses head non-chalantly, spits) I belong to no one, but I will still go and have a look-see as musicality is important, may I suggest drawingflies.com for some new toons? Not mine but the singer is a dear dear friend and fellow psychotic. Plus you get to bash their balls and it's fun!

These little gifs are addictive no?
