Older Albums We're Loving On...

1) Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here": Finally pulled this back out after not hearing all the way through for over a year. One of my favorite albums ever to this day.

2) The Pixies "Surfer Rosa": I had heard tracks off this in the past, but just bought this a month or so ago and I now love the whole thing. It is classic, but maybe not as good as "Doolittle"

3) Steve Miller Band "Young Hearts: Complete Greatest Hits". Just bought this new release today. I've always liked their stoner-boy music but this is the 1st time that I have ever owned any of their music on disc. So refreshing to listen to these days, even though some of it sounds dated.

4) Soundgarden "SuperUnknown" - got to be the best thing this band ever did. Best thing Chris Cornell ever did too.

5) Stevie Wonder "Original Musiquarium Vols. 1 & 2" I have been addicted to this collection for about 5 years and I still can't stop listening to it. That is very rare for me too. As far as albums proper go, "Songs In the Key Of Life" is the friggin' word - just a masterpiece.

6) Marvin Gaye "What's Going On" - Timeless

I haven't heard the new Jim Hendrix Berkley CD but I bet that one is good. Anyone have that on CD or DVD yet?

Still KILLS.

Lately I've been all over Elvis Costello's "This Year's Model" which is awesome. Also rem's "Reckoning" and "Nebraska" from the Boss, but those are kind of always on heavy rotation for me.

Best of My Love

playing almost non-stop.

Can't go wrong with some mid- to late-70s ELO. "Smooth Talkin' Woman," "Turned to Stone," "Living Thing," just some great pop tunes.

Every single one of you better have some love reserved for Al Stewart's "Year of The Cat" . . . that album stil gets regular play on my stereo since I practically grew up opn that, the first 4 Dire Straits albums and George Benson.

I also threw on Helstar's 'Nosferatu' album the other day since I hadn't listened to it in ages . . . man. The music was great, but what they HELL were they thinking with 99% of the lyrics?!

Oh, and I always got time to kick it with the OLD-school Oingo Boingo.

The man transcends.

Neil Young, On the Beach. Ambulance Blues just floors me every time I listen to it.

Ryan, Songs In The Key of Life is awesome. "As" rules! Do you happen to own Innervisions?

Year Of The Cat - Yes, again!
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - Yes, a third time!

I've been jamming to "The Best of the Doobies" which features:

It Keeps You Runnin'
South City Midnight Lady**
China Grove
Black Water
Takin' It To The Streets

and many other great ones.

I love my moo-ee!

Avalon - "As" is my jam! But I love, love , love any pre-MTV era Stevie.

I've been listening to Marvin Gaye's "I Want You" deluxe edition remaster that came out a month ago.

Well, I never fail to listen to the Allman Brother's band live at Fillmore East, one of the finest performances ever committed to CD. I've been an ABB fan ever since.
I also like to groove to James Brown 'Live at the Apollo Vol.2' Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going on' and 'Let's get it on' Deluxe editions. The extra tracks are simply brilliant.
Mahavishnu Orhestra 'The Inner Mounting Flame' Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue'
John Coltrane 'The classic quartet'
Return to Forever 'Romantic Warrior'

I've stated it before, but seeing as you're new here (welcome, btw), I'll reiterate. To me, "As" has the most beautiful lyrics ever penned. Now THAT'S a love song!

..and you can never go wrong with Davis and Coltrane.

"Innervisions" is incredible too...as is "Talking Book" and a couple of other Stevie Albums. And YES I love "As" as well. I loved the Marvin Gaye, John Coltrane, Mahavishnu and James Brown mentions too.

Miles Davis is the MASTER. And "Kind of Blue" will be playing in heaven.

Beach Boys Pet Sounds - which is the most perfect album ever made.

Beach Boys Smile - Not 'Smiley Smile' oh no sir, this is Smile - apparantly as close to the real thing as you can get.

Love Forever Changes - If you don't have this then get it, get it right now.

PWEI - Dos Dedos Mis Amigos

10 years ago I was playing this album non-stop in my CD rotation, I can't believe I put it down. I can remember an old band of mine, when we tried covering "CAPE CONNECTION". It was rough, but we loved that track. Anyways, great album and if you don't own it, buy it!
