"O-Ren Ishii- half Chinese half Japanesy.." The KILL BILL Soundtrack Thread

Definetly a cool soundtrack. Has the music from the trailer along with "Woo Hoo" by the 5,6,7,8's which is my favorite track. But from top to bottom this soundtrack is the bee's knees. Nice call on the Green Hornet theme which Bruce Lee was on and...hey Uma wears the Game of Death track suit. Amazing these "coincidences", eh?
Just bought the soundtrack, love it so far but is all the music from the anime sequence with O-Ren Ishii in here? At this point I don't think it is, and that's fucking bullshit.

Unless this thing isn't in chronological order....

Perfection would be having the main theme to Game of Death in Volume 2.
This OST is sorta lame when taken from the film, but tracks 3, 13, and 14 are terrific. 6 would be great if it didn't have RZA talking.

Is it me or is a lot of music that was in the film not in this?

I think there'll be a Volume 2. I just downloaded some of the stuff and made my own Kill Bill soundtrack. The existing one is woefully incomplete without Morricone's "Death Rides a Horse."

Micah, what tracks did you put on your bootleg soundtrack?
I want an Issac Hayes greatest hits. Run Fay Run is awesome. Where have these great themes gone?

Yes, Micha, what is on your bootie version?
Bought this soundtrack the minute after my screening ended, and have to say I love it. My favorite track is probably 10- the Santa Esmerelda song (the clap track).

The soundtrack's kind of weird to listen to by itself, because it fits so well in the movie. Still been listening to it nonstop, though. Driving everyone nuts by whistling the Bernarnd Herrmann song everywhere I go...
I'm adding tracks as I go, but the biggies in the film that are not on the soundtrack are the Morricone song and Isaac Hayes theme to "Mad Truck Turner," which he also starred in. I'm working on a couple of the other spaghetti western themes as we speak.
I'm shocked and appalled that I didn't realize a Morricone song was in this.

What scene was it?

Which Spaghetti Western tracks? Since you already knew about "Death Rides a Horse" (or is that one also in the flick? we don't get the film till teh end of November here), can you tell me which song is used in the bootleg trailer that ends with "Death Rides a Horse"?

Don't forget the Kato masks O-Ren's general and his army wear.

Exactly 86. But the song in the anime sequence is in the soundtrack, its "Run Faye Run" by Isaac Hayes-- no. 7. They only played the beginning though.

Plus- if you were impressed or love the 5,6,7,8's song and performance in the movie definetly check out their eponymous debut record. It's fantastic to listen to. You can get it (obviously) at Amazon, if you buy it through the marketplace it should be roughly 8 bucks.

Anybody know the name/artist of the ending credits song? I think the refrain is "Urami Bushi". I haven't been ablet to pinpoint from the album if the song is on the soundtrack.

Any help would be appreciated.
Where did you find the "Death Rides a Horse" track? I can't find the bastard anywhere.

A lot of the music missing from Vol 1 that was in the movie might be scheduled for the Vol 2 soundtrack.

It's a possibility at least.
I wish that more people carried this album. If they did maybe the strong sales would encourage them to release another CD of music so we have everything.

Volume 2 will most likely be the same, it will have the majority of the music from the second part with a lot of tracks missing.
I need to go pick up this soundtrack. I can't listen to "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" enough to satisfy my craving.

I found it on Kazaa the other night. Should still be there, I just put the name of the song in the search and it popped right up.
After some searching...

The song played as Uma adds some feet to her collection is "Nobody but Me" by the Human Beinz and could be found on kazaa if one were so inclined. "Death Rides a Horse" can be found at emusic.com.

Edited to add:
Thanks Electrichead. It didn't appear for me when I had searched for it earlier.

I had the Nobody but Me track. Great stuff.

As Uma "verbally" (Sorry, sorry...bad pun. I'm sorry, ok?) calls out O-Ren from downstairs, that's when "Death Rides a Horse" plays.

And to answer the other question...I haven't seen the bootleg trailer, so I couldn't tell you what music was playing there.

I'm surprised no one has said anythoing about the theme to Mad Truck Turner. It's right up there with "Shaft" in the Isaac Hayes pantheon.

Man, I just got this. You can always count on QT for a kickass soundtrack and he doesn't disappoint here. Run, Faye, Run kicks some serious ass, especially with that percussive intro(God, how I love that)
Grand Duel by Luis Bacalov is another highlight, it's really haunting. Woo-Hoo is one addictive song, not to mention catchy and Twisted Nerve is like some twisted disney song.

I've had this song in my head for days!!! I also need to know who it is and where to get it. Every last music establishment is sold out of these so I'm downloading what I can.

OK, I saw this again and I have a question about the O-ren anime scene. When the anime starts it's the Bacalov song from the soundtrack, but when her father is finally slain, that song stops and some horns blaze in there. What are those from? I thought I mis-heard the first time I saw it, but upon a second viewing, they are there. It then goes back to the Bacalov track when the blood from her mother leaks through the mattress.
Have they said when they're going to release soundtrack 2?

I grabbed Nobody But Me by the Human Beinz off Kazaa - Are you sure this was in the movie? Does the song start with the singer saying "no" repeatedly and then lines like "nobody can do the shake like me", etc? Song seems to peppy and happy somehow.
The soundtrack has all the same problems the american release of Ghost Dog did, so yes, I am looking forward to shelling out another $40 on the import soundtrack.

What problems are you talking about? Just curious.

Thank you! I love pseudo-'60s J-Pop like Comoestas and Pizzicato Five, but I'd never heard of them before, and I was pleasantly surprised by the force of their performance.

The Kill Bill soundtrack is getting constant airplay in my house. My favorite tracks are #3, #13 and #14.
When someone has put together the definitive bootleg, please post the track listings here.
