KMFDM - WWIII

Did anyone else pick up this album yet?! KMFDM is probably one of my favorite bands out there, over 20 years and still not letting up in any regards. This album is probably their hardest yet, they definately give it their all with WWIII. Anyone else pick it up?

WWIII was much better than I expected after the dissapointment that was Attak and the exit of En Esch, Gunter Schulz & to a lesser extent Tim Skold. After MDFMK & Attak I was ready to disregard any of their new albums but this one redeems them quite nicely, harder with more political overtones, I am glad to have added it to my collection it is one of their best.

I wish I could fucking find it somewhere!

The one thing on this album that I'm most pleased with is the song Last Things. I love Lucia's vocals, but have never really liked the solo songs she has performed in the past. This song is beautiful, and complements the album perfectly. So far it's probably my favorite song, overall.

Never been a huge KMFDM fan, but this shit's great. My roommate picked it up when it came out, and after the ridiculous amount of good buzz behind it, I gave it a listen or two.

NICE.

Kein Mitleid Für...Damn I forget what the rest of it is, KMFDM is what they go by so if you have heard of them you probably would have recognised it as the name of the band, I see what you mean though, I hate being stuck in acronym hell.

Kein mehrheit fur die mitleid.
No pity for the majority.

Thank you, muncie girl. I was just about to suggest picking up a copy of What do you know, Deutschland?; the name explaination is about the only thing in the CD sleave.

I've only got to hear 'Intro' from this album over the radio, not enough to tell yet. Does anyone consider this as good as NIHIL?

The only album I'm missing is the original NAIVE album, containing illegal samples in Goglike. My favorite album is always going to be Angst, Naive is a close second, WWIII is third only because of its release date; I still need to let the album grow on me yet.

Kind of unrelated, but does anyone know if KMFDM actually did any of the remixes they're given credit for? I know about the Pig remixes, but I'm talking about stuff like on Kazaa. They have credit for almost every remix (kind of like how Weird Al did every parody ever. And before anyone goes into a rant about stealing music, I buy CDs and only use Kazaa to download remixes and concert stuff, things you can't buy on CD.

KMFDM does do a lot of remixes, but KaZaa is riddled with mislabled files. You can generally tell which ones are KMFDMish by the 140bps-ultra-heavy-beat that is their trademark. Some of my favorites are as follow (and I'm including covers):

1. Sin City - Genitorturers
2. Material Girl - Madonna
3. Headhunter - Front 242

I had given up any hope for them as well. I'll have to check this out now.

Angst is a great album.

Ah, I have that one - it was one of my only rare CD's that survived a particularly nefarious roommate. Liebslied was also an offender on that CD, with illegal Carmina Burana samples.

A less-fortunate CD was UAIOE...I swear that the version I had bought in London had a different mix of More and Faster.

As for WWIII, now, I haven't been in a mall music store since, say, 1995, but because of this thread I ventured in FYE to see if they had it. They did, for $19.99. That's fucking insane.

Thanks for posting about this album it kicks ass! I never would have given it a second look. 'Pity for the Pious' is a great tune.

Finally found it last night, so far I really like "Last Things" and "WWIII", but I'm only halfway through the album. The only shitty song I've heard so far is "Pity for the Pious."
