NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Actor Tim Robbins will be the host of the Johnny Cash Memorial Tribute at Ryman Auditorium on Nov. 10.

Artists confirmed to take part in the service include Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Travis Tritt, Rosanne Cash, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, John Mellencamp, Sheryl Crow, Hank Williams Jr., Randy Scruggs, Marty Stuart, Cowboy Jack Clement, the Fisk Jubilee Singers, Larry Gatlin and George Jones, Cash's longtime manager Lou Robin told the Nashville Tennessean.

Five hundred people will win tickets to the tribute in a lottery. Winners will be chosen in an Oct. 27 drawing and notified by phone no later than Oct. 31.

The two-hour tribute will be taped and is set to be seen Nov. 15 on Country Music Television.

Cash died Sept. 12 at age 71 of complications from diabetes.
I love Robbins, but what does he have to do with Johnny Cash?

On a side note, has anyone heard Cash's cover of "Personal Jesus"? It's amazing!

Robbins had a Cash record a couple of tracks for the "Dead Man Walking" soundtrack, so I guess that's the connection. I should have tried to get tickets to this, it's only a 4-hour drive.

Well, I believe that Cash and Robbins are of roughly the same political stripe. Maybe they worked together on some issues.
