Not to do any electioneering, but the Astros RULE!

Bagwell is currently in second place at first base with Biggio in third place. HELP MAKE THINGS RIGHT!

And you can vote 25 times. Unfortunately, I've already max-ed out my 25 times.

And what kind of arbitrary number is "25?" My dad and I used to pick up TONS of ballots at Arlington Stadium and then at the Dome and we'd spend the entire game punching holes for the Rangers and the Astros.

I hate to break it to you, Jack, ol' buddy, but Biggio's finished, and as much as I love Bagwell, he isn't deserving this year because of the shoulder problems.

So, I say vote Braves, and vote often. How Andruw is trailing Shinjo is befuddling, so start voting, ya bastards.

And fuck the Yankees.

This fucker is gonna have 2 Phillies starting, Jimmy Rollins and Scott Rolen.

I don't really follow the team this year (due to the losing, and boredom) but nonetheless i'm excited.

If Scott Rolen starts over Mike Lowell, I'll replace my cock with a full sized replica of Louis Jordan.

Geez, is Griffey going to be voted in again? It kills me how players who haven't even played 1/2 of the games so far still get a majority of All Star votes, just by name alone. What did he play, like 10 games last season, and was in the Top 10 for number of All-Star votes?

Well, he will.

Scott Rolen may be lacking in offense, but nobody plays 3rd like him. That's why the fans voted him in. And that's why I still like him.

Good riddance to him, though, when he leaves. And he WILL leave.

I like Rolen, also, but his numbers this year are the balls of America.

And the fans are very quickly proving that they don't know what the hell they're doing with this All-Star thing.

At one point, Shinjo, Armando Rios, and Pelloquin from Nightbreed were leading vote getters.

Looks like I'll be pissing out of my new Louis Jordan cock real soon, then.

Hey, it could be worse - I could make arguments for having both 1B Richie Sexson AND SS Jose "Sancho" Hernandez from the fucking Brewers as legit All-Star candidates!

Here's what the Phillies line-up should read:

P - Brett Myers
C - Jonny Estrada
1B - Jeremy Giambi
2B - Marlon Anderson
SS - Jimmy Rollins
3B - Tomas Perez
OF - Abreu, Burrell, Marlon Byrd

That line-up would be fun, exciting and balls-to-the-wall attitude.

Our current line-up, however, is shit.

Giambi is playing a lot more often now.

Myers SHOULD be up.

Glanville needs to go.

The only players worth their red pinstripes right now are Pat Burrell, Vicente Padilla, and Jimmy Rollins,

No offense, SJR (which usually indicates someone is about to offend you), but that is the exact reason that I'm opposed in general to fan voting for all-star contests - players and coaches often put someone in based on rep, but fans are ridiculous.

We had an all-star discussion on the board last year, and where I went and crunched some #s for worthy candidates, other people just "voted Braves" or whatever, which is NOT in the spirit of what an all-star game should be. An all-star game should be a reward for a season (or half-season, at least) of excellent baseball. Does rep factor into it? Sure. But as rewarding as Cal Ripken's appearance last year was, by no stretch of the imagination was he producing at that level on the field.

When I vote for all-star teams (which is rarely), I take it seriously, not as a rallying cry to put "my" team's members into the game, performance be damned. To do otherwise is to sell the sport short.

Marlon Anderson can stay. Giambi is worth his stripes. As is Abreu. The rest can go.

I'm watching today's game right now, Lee was not tagged out. The ump was fucking blind and it brings up something that bugs me: not touching the bases. These umps figure if you're close enough, you're fine. And on the Lee call, the catcher caught the ball, dropped down and let Lee go over him, not even coming close to the tag, but all the ump cared about was that the catcher held onto the ball. Dopes.

They won 8-5 but I just cannot get into them this year. I hate to admit it's because they're losing. You have to so heavily devote yourself to watching a baseball game that if they're losing it isn't worth it. That's how I feel, anyway. I hope they can come back but the Braves are WAY ahead and if it isn't the Braves they are after it would be the Mets, so as far as i'm concerned they're screwed this year.

Yeah, they're done. The season is salvagable though. If they can come back and finish over .500 that would be decent.
