I'm reading one now of Jackson Pollock. It's really good. Such a sad life. Such an amazing artist.

What are some of your favorite biographies?

Funny this topic should come up since I just the other day at a used bookstore picked up a biography of Dashiell Hammett. I've just skimmed it so far but one thing that caught my eye was that he was one of the private investigators hired by silent film comedian Fatty Arbuckle to help prove he was innocent of raping and crushing to death under his 300 plus pound bulk a young starlet. I'm surprised nobody's ever used that fact for a movie or novel.

It's called Hammett: A LIfe on the Edge by William F. Nolan. It's long been out of print but you might have luck at ebay or amazon.com finding a used copy.

Chuck Yeager's autobiography kicks much boo-tay, as does the man himself.

My school's drama class wants me to write a play about Hammett and Hellman solving a mystery on the set of Citizen Kane..
