I read a book (by Christopher Moore who rocks) on mysterious islanders and one of the many humorous instances in it referred to why these people (who were supposedly cannabalistic) liked SPAM, it stands for Substantial Protein Approximating Man....... food for thought, heh heh.

That is not entirely untrue, although he has a disclaimer about it in the fore of the book (which is second only to 'Coyote Blue'). I have a Polynesian friend who, oddly enough, grew up nekkid and runnin' around on the beach and such, and he tells me that the old villagers still refer to SPAM as 'the long pig that comes in a can'.

And by the way, I will never get over the fact that cannibals refer to humans as 'The Long Pig'. That kills me.

Coyote Blue's your fave? I was always most partial to Practical Demonkeeping. The Lovecraft jokes are great! But then again, Moore's just an incredible author, I ate his books up in the unbeleivable span of 1 month.

I knew that Love Nun reference probably wasn't exact, it's been awhile since I read the book, it's still damned funny though..........

There ya go. My faves, and in order. The closing line of Love Nun is pretty damn unbeatable, but I don't want to spoiler it, because Blofeld has just recently converted to wanting to read them. I envy him his joy.
