Can someone help a girl out?

So I've found myself a book that SEEMS pretty darned good.
It's called The House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. There's some impressive blurbs (though I usually don't put too much trust in blurbs)from Brett Easton Ellis & Harlan Ellison (methinks it was him). It's got an interesting backstory listed in the jacket but I can't quite divide the publisher hype from actual synopsis.
Has anyone read this one? Heard any trustworthy reviews on it? Just want to know if I should save my 20 bucks?

S'funny, I missed that post entirely due to vacation. Thanks, the blurbs on the book are pretty much the same, VERY scary fucking book.

Alright, here's the scoop.
I don't have the book, I wanted to know if it was worth the 20 bucks. But I saw it & read the jacket and back cover blurbs & it seemed darned interesting.
Quickie synopsis:
BACKGROUND-The book began as a just a bunch of random notebook pages and other scraps. The author was writing it bit by bit and it gained a small underground following. It's now finally been published legit.
THE PLOT-A family moves into a new home and realize it's bigger on the inside than on the outside. First of course it's pretty damned neat, but then the parents realize their kids have found some rilly scary shit going on in a closet that leads into a freaky black forest from Hell or something similar I guess. Anyway, as I said the advert blurbs on the back cover were impressive. And I thought I'd plumb the depths of CHUD minds for any opinions on it.
