Ok- so sometimes these fit the atmosphere of a film. I guess that these make perfect sense for teen films like "American Pie", "Dazed and Confused" and the like. But I think that these are normally pretty damn bad. That being said, there are a few that I like. A good example of this would be the ST to David Lynch's "Wild At Heart." I think that there is something for everybody on that one: metal, pop, lite jazz, jazz fusion, orchestra, Elvis covers, classic rock, etc.
There are some like this that i remember but maybe I shouldn't. For example, the ST to "Top Gun." Everytime I see anything attached to that movie, I think of the Kenny Loggins song "Danger Zone". Now that is scary huh? I think Stallone STs liek this are the best. Bot the best talent, but the best worst STs. Who owns the ST to Rocky 4? There are all kinds of bad rock songs on there that you have got to love. I think that Mike Patton should have Mr. Bungle cover some of these on their next tour.
