The Walking Drum

Anybody read this? Anybody gonna? I don't know how many of you read historical epics out there but this is certainly a fine one, and fun. It ranks up there with Gary Jennings' "The Journeyer" (about a young Marco Polo) or "The Raptor" (about Thorn, the Mannamavi, and his rise to power in the 700 AD's as an advisor and general for Emporer Theodoric), but it doesn't have the 700 pages that either of those books has, which is why I reviewed IT instead of THEM. For lovers of history, Wilbur Smith's "River God" is a good piece on Ancient Egypt, as is his "Birds of Prey", about ships and war and swashbuckling and cannons and one great family who won't let up no matter what the odds.
So, if you've read it, pop in here, or if not, say something anyway.
