I'll be honest and say that for years I swore like a pitman. But since the wife has become pregnant, I'm making a conscious effort to knock it on the head.

In reality there's no real need to swear, and I'm constantly embarrassed when I think of the wholesale profanity I used to express.

I understand your statement about there being "no real need to swear", but at this point in my life I find myself dropping the f-bomb in quite often, usually as an adjective or an expletive. It just fuckin' happens.

Hey, I fully admit that it's tough not to swear. I lapse every day, sometimes unknowingly.

I'd be an absolute hypocrite to criticise others on this matter, but I just don't want my kid to grow up thinking that it's okay to spout trash.

It's rough when you got kids around. I curse more than anyone, but since my niece was born i've been trying to curb it a little bit. If I gotta curse in front of the kid I usually do it in that good ol' O&A style - ie. say F instead of fuck. "WHAT THE F!"

They do pick up on everything you say though, you gotta be careful.

Use ASCII code. It will blow those crazy admin's minds!

You've just gotta be creative - one board I frequent bans "fuck", "shit", "damn", "bitch", "cock", and "asshole".

But it DOESN'T ban "hell", "ass", "pecker", or "piss". Thus, instead of "asshole" it becomes "ass hole", "pecker"/"dick" = "cock" in most instances, etc.

Someone explain the concept of a cuss word to me. Why is ok to say screw, but not fuck? They mean the same thing. Why can I say crap, but not shit, or darn but not damn? They're synonyms. Since the words, mean the same thing, it must be about the way they sound. Something about the sound of the word makes it a 'bad' work. Shhhhh is ok. It is ok. But if you put them too close together Shhhhit! Oh, that's bad.

There must have been some committee back during the continental congress that got to vote on which words are ok. Since I was neither present, nor represented at that meeting, I refuse to acknowledge their jurisdiction, and I will speak however I want.

No clean synonym for cunt though. Just goes to show that women are dirty.
