Why won't my computer turn off?

Apparantly clicking Start>Turn off computer>Turn off means restart.

I'm running Windows XP Professional. The "Stand By" option won't let me even click it.

I know I could just hit the power button, but I don't wanna.

Any ideas?

Just shut off the power. When Windows bugs out on you, show it who's the boss.

I'd hit the power button right when the computer is about to restart. After it's shut down all the programs and doesn't yet have the chance to restart them.

I guess I have no other choice but to do that.

I was hoping that would be my last resort. Oh well, thanks though.

Nelson, if you have a linux box, good for you. It's unfortunate about not being able to run any games on it though. If you're a Mac user, the current state of the Apple software market provides no solid footing for your uneven criticism, and you paid roughly twice as much for that honor.

EXTREMELY obscure reference to the advertisements for that Skynet game (underappreciated actually). The ads claimed that the game had "NO LIMITS". Hence, "NO REBOOTS". Stupid, I know.
