Bicycles

I'm looking to get a good road/hybrid bike to commute to school on. Anyone here do this already or have any suggestions? I'm trying to lose weight and get back in shape, and since I only live a few miles from school, I figured this would be a good easy way to add in a little extra exercise. Willing to spend up to 350 or so, cause I want something that will last and is comfortable.

You can't go too wrong with a <a href="http://www.trekbikes.com/bikes/2003/mountain/4100.jsp" target="_blank">TREK such as this one.</a>

My friend gave me her old bike. I'm at a loss for what all the gears do. I find myself constantly spinning my legs and getting nowhere!

Even so, I've started cycling a little at a time because my ass is severely out of shape. I hope to be able to bike to work soon. It would be about 15 minutes and save me lots of loot on subway fare.

I've been going for 3+ hour bike rides lately. However, that's on my Giant mountain bike, which isn't the best for bike paths. I need to fix up my dad's old road bike and get some shoes for it.

When I can afford it <a href="http://www.santacruzmtb.com/bicycles/heckler/heckler.asp" target="_blank">THIS</a> would be my next bike. But by the time I can afford it there will be something better by YETI or even Specialized.

My Trek is really starting to suffer. I ride this poor thing every day offroad hard and it's basically an intermediate bike. Hell, I was in really bad physical condition when I got back into MTBing and the bike was much more than I needed. Now that I'm really getting fit and sexy and having more fun biking than ever I can seriously see getting some air and potato-chipping my poor rear wheel.

So now I need another big-hit bike like my old -and unfortunately stolen- StumpJumperFS. This is the last Trek I get after two of them.

So, one more mountain bike then a serious road bike. Hmmm...now how to finance this...
