Thought it'd be a neat idea to make an all-encompassing place fer' kids whot like it.

So we can discuss.

So-DISCUSS!

I hope it's not too out of line to plug a friendly competitor, but over at Coming Attractions, we have an entire Buffy forum going, with about 50 topics, 300something posts, and between a dozen and two dozen regular contibutors. So, should anyone want to take part, you can join us at:
http://www.corona.bc.ca/ubb/

And the link to the Buffy/Angel forum is near the bottom of the page.

How do you plug a friendly competitor - with a cork or a ....?
A dildo, of course!

In all seriousness, tho', I do tape the eps, and I'm a couple of weeks behind. And oddly enough, I really don't care, because Angel is so much better than Buffy this season that it's kind of weird. If I only have time to watch one or the other, I pick Angel, hands down. I just got a chance to watch last week's ep last night, and I =loved= it.

So does anyone else think Angel is really coming into it's own and spanking Big Sister's ass this year, or is it just the crack talking again?

I hope Gellar takes to the open road so the actors can get on with the better projects that await them...

Heh...."see it coming".

Mmmm....Willow, The Kronos Slayer

It just sings!

You know what's odd about that Sarah quote above?

THIS ONE-for the front page of the IMDB TODAY:

Q: Do you ever think of quitting Buffy?

GELLAR: I'll stick with the series as long as the scripts are good and I feel that we're not disappointing the audience. It would be really awful if we became very cynical and simply got to churning out Buffy episodes so we could make more money down the road. The show is successful enough and I owe it a lot, so I'm more than happy to be where I am.

Q: Do you feel any pressure to try your hand at simply concentrating on a film career?

GELLAR: No. I'm still young enough not to have to worry about not having a film career or worrying about being stereotyped in the role. These days, TV actors are finding it pretty easy to move to film if that's where they want to go. So I just look at making a movie or two during the summer and going back to being Buffy the rest of the time.

"There are very few TV shows where the characters change so noticeably over the show's lifespan."

Blake's7, Dr. Who, Farscape, and Babylon5 are the only ones I can think of.
And Blake's7 only had 2 characters that remained the entire run...Blake himself dropped out after first season.

And yes, Angel is getting very close to what Whedon originally wanted...a much darker, more intense show.

D. B.- I just started watching Angel this season and only saw one rerun with Doyle in it. I still miss Doyle, too.

But Wesley's starting to grow on me. Bastard.
Just watch. When Brosnan retires, Wesley's actor will be up for 007.
May not get it, but he'll audition.

Buffy's been phenominal this season. The addition of Dawn is awesome, and the fact that I know Riley is going to leave soon makes it even better. There's already been more Xander on the show as opposed to last year. Season 4 was somewhat weak, but the show regained its balance towards the end of the season, and has continued on strong this season. I can't wait to see what's going on this season.

Something tells me that Dawn is the eventual Slayer replacement that Faith was supposed to be until Dushku did Bring It On...
Dusku's still in, just in jail right now. She'll be appearing in Angel some more this season.
Dawn's not a slayer. I'll be suprised if the character survives the season...that "she doesn't know" REEKS of a tragic choice coming up, most likely a sacrifice.
Of course, the character not surviving doesn't mean we'll see the last of Trattenburg, either. I have...suspicions of guest-spots, should the sacrifice I'm expecting happen.
Remember, the key has never had a personality, until now. It won't give that up, willingly. It's life.

I thought that too. There were a couple of odd references in last night's Buffy/Angel double header-but they escape me now.
Solid show last night. Bruce Campbell allusions. Sexy lesbians. Invisible demons. I likey. Plus the part at the end when everyone was talking to Tara'a family and kept saying "we care" and Spike chimed in with that lovely little accent of his and said "cept me. I really dont care what happens." Damn funny stuff.
Spike continues to be one of the best characters on TV, and he only appears for five minutes on most episodes. looking forward to seeing him in his past Victorian and punk days on next week's crossover, as well as the return of Drusilla

it was also nice to see Wesley taking center stage on Angel, and it was particularly amusing to see that he was as surprised as anyone when he handily took out the two bedroom guards. was good to see him get the girl too (who, coincidentally enough, played a vampire on the "Kindred" miniseries a few years ago). wonder if she'll become a semi-regular?

THAT's where I've seen her before. I knew I had.

The "You've killed two slayers before I want to know how you did it." line from the preview intrigues me.
Hey - I really like this show, but I'm not a die hard fan. I know the scoop on Dawn hasn't been totally explained in the series as of yet, but can someone explain to me the "story so far" with regards to Buffy's new younger sister?
My sister swore that she saw James Marsters on the VH1 Rocky Horror Picture Show 25th anniversary special last night. Can anyone confirm this? She doesn't really watch Buffy or Angel unless I tie her up in front of the TV so she might have been wrong. I will be so vexed if I missed that.
Ok. Last night's eps just plain rocked.
I've always liked James Marsters (Spike is one of my favourite characters on the air right now). But now that I've seen some RANGE, I wonder where this boy's been hiding.
And they had wayyyyy too much fun filming the fire scene.
Does everyone here want to see the Buffster and Spike get together? He's obviously much cooler than Riley so I hope he somehow finds a way to kill him. Wouldn't that be romantic?

More Lindsey, less of his competition (which is a shame, because I liked her last season when she was Ms 1930's.)
The hell with it, just spin Spike off into his own series. It'll out perform Buffy and Angel combined. This I have no doubt of. And James Marsters should definately recieve an Emmy nomination after last night's performance. He blew everybody else right out of the water.
Wow. I'm speechless. I can't believe I waited until this year to discover the phenomenon that is Buffy. What a great episode last night.

Good grief! When Buffy made Spike cry I really wanted him to kill her. Of all the horrible things to say. Ouch.

Captain supermarket: You and I are completely on the same page. Ditch Riley; run with Spike. The bad boys are always more interesting.

Don't get attached to Spike.

My Roswell addicted Mother was searching the spoiler board on one of the sites and saw that it looks like Marsters got a movie offer he couldn't turn down and Whedon is so pissed he's killing him off.

Now, I didn't see this with my own eyes but you can trust Mother Django...
Oh Dear God, No! Don't let it be true! Sure I wanted to see more James Marsters but not at the expense of Spike.

I can see it now: Spike makes the ultimate sacrifice and dies to save to the Slayer.

I'm hyperventilating; Quick, someone give me a brown paper bag!
I, erm, doubt that it's true.
Marsters has been trying to get Whedon to move him to Angel. It also doesn't match attitudes.

Bowler: Spike was Buffy's advesary for 2 seasons. They teamed up to get Angelus (Angel gone bad...Buffy to stop hell from being released, Spike to get Dru back.), but he was supposed to leave after that. A while later he came back because Dru left him (long story) and has been a pain to Buffy (but even more fun for us) ever since.

As for the accent, he was in a play where someone WAS from england, and was playing a punk. He dragged him off and said "Talk, I need to imitate you." "What's the gig?" "I'm not telling you, you'll go after the part."
The guy helped him anyways.
I haven't been able to dig anything solid up outside of that Spike DOES get spiked in a dream of Buffy's.

That's probably where this came from...
Goddammit!!!

Last year we were pretty much identical to schedules with you guys (I think we were a fortnight behind). I've just found out that the new series of Buffy and Angel aren't starting till Jan 5 2001.

That's it, I'm outta this country...

*points devilf towards B5 & Blake's 7 before he makes the EVER judgement. Same symptoms*

Space Rangers was cooler, though...

It is so nice for a change to hear people other than myself talk about how Babylon 5 was at best only a part time good show. Never a great one. The actors do deserve some blame for it's many faults, but I hold Straczynski (I know I misspelled the poor guy's name, but shit I ain't got time to go look it up somewhere)truly responsible for the show's short comings. Week after week he'd write some of the most stiff and awkward dialog this side of a Jack Webb scripted episode of Dragnet. And he couldn't write a funny scene or turn of a phrase if his life depended on it. The humor on the show would always fall flat not because of the actors delivery, but due to the fact it just wasn't funny to ever begin with. Well, that's my rant. We now return you to discussing Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

*deports all of you to DS9*

You did spell his name correctly, btw.
I *knew* there was a reason I loved the Angel theme...the cellist is Gerri Sutyak. If you listen to music at all, you've probably heard her...everyone from Bush & Everclear to Tom Petty and Nigel Kennedy have used her for tracks. http://www.darlingvioletta.com/darling.htm
Like the music? Go to the band's website, click on Angel, and send letters to WB so they realize there's a demand. You also get to hear a slight remix of the background for the opening notes.

DON'T YOU BLAST GLORY A-HOLE!

She was in Bring It On...
I *hate* that haircut.
Ygg looked good when he was completely CGI. Fluid CGI just points out how stiff the rubber outfit was in live-action, though.
And Glory bothers me, too. But I still really like this season.
Michelle Trattenburg is going to be exceedingly dangerous when she grows up.
That sorry-ass cobra monster looked like something out of a bad Xena episode. I wasn't that crazy about the demon makeup job they had Tony Todd wearing on Angel either. He looked to me more like and escapee from a turn of the century leper colony than a monster. Glory is at best okay as a heavy; it's nice for a change seeing Buffy having to go toe to toe with someone who not only is as strong as her but actually far stronger, though I'm positive before this story has concluded they'll come up with some magic crap that lowers her to Buff's level and then makes it a relatively easy win for the slayer. That's the same mistake they made with Adam last year.
They had Tony Todd...and they kinda wasted him on that chaacter, I thought. Oh, well.
