This is TOTAL self-hype, but I think you Chewers will get a kick out of this. Here's the release I've been sending out:

CHUD will probably get a kick out of "Jaxxon's 11" -- a fan/spoof "Star Wars" comic that's unfolding over at TheForce.net.

"J11" -- written by Mike Russell and illustrated by David Stroup -- tells the story of Jaxxon (yes, that ridiculous green rabbit from Marvel's 1970s "Star Wars" comics) as he recruits Han Solo and several classic Marvel SW characters to steal the Kaiburr Crystal from Jabba's Palace and Casino.

"J11" is set in the post-"Jedi" timeframe, where Jabba's Palace has become a legitimate, Vegas-style theme casino -- run by a badly burned Bib Fortuna, who somehow survived the sail-barge battle. Tattooine has become a tourist trap, packed to the gills with Gungans and Ewoks. Han Solo -- who, it turns out, owed money to THREE beings named "Jabba the Hutt" (movie, Marvel and human stand-in) -- is a hen-pecked father of two, with Chewbacca serving as his "shag-carpet nursemaid."

Artist David Stroup packs each comics frame with little details -- including characters from the "Star Wars Holiday Special" and other Expanded Universe embarrassments. Combined with Russell's sharp dialogue, a complex love-hate relationship with the kitschy 1970s "Star Wars" comics plays out in every frame.

Four scenes (amounting to 23 full-size comics pages) are now online, with the complete story expected to fill 100 pages. Fans can also download high-rez PDF versions of each page, which the authors (who, after all, can't make a penny on what is, ultimately, better-than-average fan fiction) will gladly sign.
