Yeah.

And I can't help to be curious about how all the sudden out of the blue, Spielberg has been everywhere (even on the EWS DVD) telling everybody about how he and Kubrick were such great friends. And now the first movie since his death, is a film that Kubrick initially wanted to direct had he lived. While I'm not doubting that he and Kubrick were friends, I can't help but to think that Spielberg seems to be basking in Kubrick's glory by constanly associating himself with him. Don't get me wrong, Spielberg probably means more to me and my love of film more than any other director, but it bugs me somewhat.

And Spielberg's more of a Hitchcockian-manipulating the audience's emotions director, which is pretty much the opposite of what Kubrick was.
