I disagree with Fincher -- yes, he's responsible for two of my favorite films, but he has also made a guilty pleasure, another one I couldn't be bothered to have seen given the reviews it was receiving (on CHUD), and a true clunker.

While I disliked The Game, I still thought his direction was right-on. Alien 3 is a guilty pleasure, and again, he does a good job directing. Panic Room a liked a little less than Se7en or Fight Club, but I still thought it was a quality picture.

I'm glad you brought this up, actually. I've noticed a distinct lack of affection for The Game here at CHUD. May I ask why so many Chewers didn't enjoy this? I consider it to be one of his better films, actually. Anyone care to help me out here?

Also, am I the only Fincher fan who was extremely disappointed with Panic Room?

I actually thought The Game and Fight Club to both be excellent movies, films I have watched more than a few times. However Panic Room was OK, but way way overrated imho.

Tarantino
Fincher
Wes Anderson
Soderburg (we have the same birthday)
Kubrick
Terry Gilliam

Also, Coppola had it. He should be grandfathered in though, because he hasn't done anything worth shit in a long time.

according to my perso/memo-retrieval;
It is impossible to reduce my vast & quasi-infinite list of consistent directors into a miserable 'Top 10 list'.
which is why, my regular xz has chosen to impose an approximate percentage of 0,01% in order to respect the original topic of discussion.
