here are my top 10 comic2film translations- (the matrix is my fav. fucking movie EVER- but for this list i'm sticking to comic2film shit- and no animated shit on my list either- though i think Mask Of The Phantasm owns all sorts of ass)
ANYWAY- my shit goes like this
1. X2- the way it should be done- big and dramatic
excellent performances across the board,
and jackman ownz the fucking planet.
we should all kiss bryan singers balls.
2. THE CROW- dark, haunting- with the perfect look
of a graphic novel brought to life.
3. BATMAN- just a great movie all around- sure it
wasn't a direct translation of the comic
lore- but it definately felt like there
was the miller influence here.
4. DAREDEVIL- my fav. character of all time get's
nailed by j-lo nailing ben affleck.
gritty and pulped out- just like the
best issues of the book.
5. SUPERMAN- kind of a masterpiece, IMO. to this
day- no-one can really match reeves
SPOT-ON casting and performance (except
maybe the jackman)
6. X-MEN- a quiet - even artsy introduction to
what i consider to be marvels richest
franchise. i can watch this over and
over.
7. TMNT- laugh if you want- but whoever directed
this did a damn good job. raphael has
never been better outside of the comics.
8. SUPERMAN 2- a great sequel- the rommance shit
works surprisingly well- "this is
planet houston?"- ya' can't beat that
9. BLADE- pure bad-ass shit. a nice, hard R-rating
does this flick good.
10. SPIDER-MAN- loses points for the second half,
but the first hour is pretty much
perfection.
