Musical
Hedwig and the Angry Inch. For old-fashioned musicals, I like the Busby Berkely movies like 42nd Street and Footlight Parade, and of course The Wizard of Oz.

Action/Adventure
Star Wars, King Kong, 7th Voyage of Sinbad. For "harder" stuff, The Road Warrior and Aliens. Oh, and Princess Mononoke.
