I'm trying to be as fair as I can and I think that my response there proves it.

That should satisfy even you, mate.

The purpose of the draft is to have fun, and not "win" at any cost. I truly mean that.

I know you do, but such a knee-jerk decision would take the fun out of it. In my opinion, we should have just forfeited ALL of Fallen Angel's picks or thought of some other way they could be obtained. We're in the middle of Round 4 and the fact that the next few people (myself included) would be able to choose some of the picks that went in the first few dozen is patently unfair. Again, it's the PRINICPLE of the matter. The fact that you have Jolie does not bother me. But the fact that you were able to get her after 130+ other picks where she could have and WOULD have gun (freudian slip) DOES. Then again, that's just my opinion and we know what that can be worth.

But as I said in the other thread, I don't see any difference whether:

A) By LUCK, DRAFT POSITION and TIMING, I get her now.

or


B) By LUCK, DRAFT POSITION and TIMING, someone else gets her later.

Not necessarily. There are OTHER options:

1) They are all forfeited forever

2) If someone chooses to draft Fallen Angel's picks they must give up one of their own comparable picks (this is, afterall, a DRAFT!)

3) After all Ten Rounds some form of supplemental draft or trades can take place, but with the total number always remaining 10 on everyone's lists.

Well, options 2 and 3 are problematic because if you drop any women to get Fallen Angel's picks, then what is to stop others from doing the same for your dropped women.

Only by absolutely eliminating the women from competition could any other solution be devised.

If Nick wants to do that, I will absolutely comply without question.

Good call... Then again, if someone wants one of his picks that badly they can forfeit THEIR choice forever.

There are several ways this can be worked out without destroying the balance of everyone's picks.

LUCK should not determine who wins. The only "luck" involved should be the random selection of the draft order. The winner should be rewarded for good taste and strategy only.

They all involve destroying women from eligibility which would be unfair to someone who WOULD have picked the uneligible women if they had gotten to choose before the person giving them up.

Either way, it's unfair to SOMEBODY, and someone is unduly lucky.

Also, remember that random selection and timing was what led to me getting Jolie.

Nick picking names from a hat.

Fallen Angel dropping out now.

Me being up when he does.

All are random occurences of equal degrees of luck.
