Damn, I checked twice. Looks like I have to go back to getting Mr. Hardwick from 'Debbie Does Dallas".

Nice pick Burke. He's unrefined but ya gotta love Freddy "unfortunately Randy is a mute" Benson.
I'm out for the next few rounds guys, so don't wait up for me. I'll catch up when I return...

I'm really playing this one by ear at the moment, so I don't have any picks I could even e-mail somebody...

I'm going camping in 'Straw Dogs' territory, if I survive I'll catch up then...

Awesome choice on Reggie Bannister, Django.

Maybe he will bring a few of his cd's to your island.
Frank Slade? yeah, Spridle, great pick. "Hoo-ah!"

"Fear causes hesitation, and hesitation will cause your worst fear to become reality"

Point Break has been and will always be one of my favorite flicks. I did not take part in the first character draft and I can't believe Bodhi was still around for this draft.

An outrage!
What? No love for Pappas?
Glad to see the draft kinda picking up a little steam.

After a slow start, we finally seem to be moving along. Of course, we have kinda whittled down to about 23 people actively participating.

This is only the third draft I have participated in (women & albums), and it is definitely generating the least discussion. How were the other drafts, discussion wise? what was the last draft? Is interest waning?
I don't know if interest is waning so much as none of the picks so far have been all that unexpected.

Although I thought I'd get some shit for Starbuck back in round 2 as most people don't remember that Galatica opened theatrically first. But oh well.

We still need a TV Draft...
What would qualify as an unexpected pick? We're all movie buffs here.
To hester's question, while the comic draft had possibly the MOST discussion I think the Album's draft had the best chatter going on.
I am the greatest. I got all my first choice picks so far. I am the greatest. Worship me. My list is the best.

Any "Heat" fans here? It's one of my all time favorite films. My latest pick is the underrated and massively talented Tom Sizemore in one of my favorite roles of his, Michael Cheritto. Not a whole lot to say, but he has the best look for a gangster film I can think of.

Remember the scene at the beginning in the little diner when they're waiting for Neal (Deniro). Deniro finally comes and bashes Waynegro's head on the table. A guy looks up and stares at them, but Sizemore just leans over and gives the guy the most "mind your business or I'll kill you without thinking twice" stare I've seen. Also, nobody just casually unloads a shotgun on a truck like Sizemore.

I like this character, can you tell?
Heat is awesome. That scene between DeNiro and Pacino in the diner kicks ass.

I love the cinematographer on this. It's so amazing how he makes it feel like the heat waves of L.A. are coming off the screen, even at night. It's killer. It rocks. I love it.

Which explains why I chose McCauley in the last draft!
I think it works both ways, Spridle. You can pick who you think is cool OR who you'd like to be on a desert island with OR both. Me, I'm going with who I'd like to have dinner with or be on "The Real World" with.
I saw that McCauley was gone and silently cursed you The cinematographer is Dante Spinotti, one of the greatest around and sadly as unheralded as Mann himself. He has done all of Mann's recent films including "Last of the Mohicans" and "The Insider". He also shot the great "L.A. Confidential". Damn, I could talk about "Heat" all day if I ever found a lot of people that loved it enough to talk about it.

In Things to Do in Denver When Your Dead, is Treat Williams character the "Fecal Freak?"

He doesn't want to admit to it, but yup.

Some cool picks being taken, some I can't believe lasted this long like my pick of Wolverine! HMT just got Mr. Glass, cool pick. And Nick took one I can't believe I overlooked, Kurt Russell's possibly best performance as Wyatt Earp!
Wolverine lasted this long because originally the rules behind the Movie Character draft was that there was a ban on picking non-humans.

Meaning no mutants, no robots, and the like.

Also, Wolverine went in the comic character draft and I suppect that people were respecting the cat who took him in that draft.

I think that explains it...
Hmmm, well, I don't want to break the rules, and I kind of wondered if it was sort of a violation in some way. So just to keep my picks straight, I'm going to change that pick.

I've now replaced Wolverine with Roland Bozz as played by Colin Farrell in Tigerland.

Nah, change it back if you truly want him.

It's round six, halfway thru, and if no one has said anything till now fuck 'em.

If you want Jackman, take him.
Done, I've taken Wolvie back.

Why draft Katie Holmes from THE GIFT? Her tits? Otherwise, she played a woman who cheats on her man at least twice. She deserves to be shipwrecked on an island, alright...

One with just a pinball machine and Randall "Tex" Cobb.

Sorry, I've been busy and didn't see...

Wolverine is NOT eligible. Sorry friend. Can you get Farrell back. He fit into the other draft, not this one.

Wow, and here I was thinking you were so mild-mannered Nick - Ouch!
I guess you haven't been reading CHUD for long.
Not that I'd pick a corpse to screw, but I believe the reason he picked her was because he likes Katie Holmes. Not the character.

But there are much better copies of her out there though...
Well, I changed my pick back again. Farrell instead of Wolverine on my list page. RathBandu, nice pick on Hannah, just when I thought I might get everyone I wanted you snatched him away
post #32 of 34
Spridle, as official CHUD Draft bastard who selects crappy characters allow me to address your question.

Yeah, probably.

See someone who's name escapes me at this moment picked the T-800 back in the Non-Human Movie Character Draft a few months back. As I'd like to think all of the drafts are interconnected, he/it would therefore already be taken.

However as I took SKYNET as my first pick, I can control all forms of Terminators no matter who picked them...
I believe Dragon Con started today. That's probably why the draft got left by the wayside.
my bad, duke.
