Babe/Hunk draft '02 - Round One Discussion

Thread Starter
It begins at 10am tomorrow, EDT.
Better lay out the rules. How is the drafting order going? Slotted or one by one? And if one by one, what about Eileen? Can we skip her cause she's a chick or is someone going to contact her?

I'm on it. I have an article going up on the main page. Regarding tracking down drafters... there's plenty of mentions about the Feb 1st beginning. We're not going to be held up this time.
You're the man.
I'm guessing this draft will go Fr, Mo-Fr, Mo-Thu? In that case I'll only be online during the first round and the last four. I'd still like to play but if that's too long an absence, just say so and I'll drop out.
I'm still reeling that I was quoted on the main page. Wow.

Anyway as this is the first official time Team Django has participated in the Babe Draft, I look forward to being a real heartbreaker and lifetaker.

Sign me up for the congressional medal of ugly.

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there...

You know, I'm so excited for today. Something about the babe draft is just too much fun. I love the competition, the sexy ladies, the trash talking.

The game should be marketed to the masses Nick, make yourself some bank.

Thanks, Kirb.

Here's hoping lots of fur flies and a few eyes are opened to who REALLY is sexy in the biz of show.

Don't worry, Paul Giamatti will still be available at 8pm.
MY FIRST PICK IS TOMORROW - ARRRRRGGGHHHH

I can't wait - maybe I will have more luck in getting who I want since I am a girl and have other ideas...although Martinaman and I have some of the same picks but I get to go before he does

That's what *you* think.

Way to play it cool darottens.

And there's no drafting tomorrow. Only weekdays.
Wow. Gwyneth. I had her so high on my list after Tenenbaums but I never thought she'd go first. But I like it.

Plus, that ass shot in the Shallow Hal trailer. Good pick Hest.
An image of her lesbian kiss from TENENBAUMS would be a nice thing. Too bad it's a long way from DVD.

Whatever you do, Shelby, just don't use any of those BARBARELLA photos from the first issue of TALK magazine; nobody's looked that uncomfortable since Arnold and Dudley played dress-up for Gordon Jump in that awful child molestation episode of "Diff'rent Strokes".

Kirb, if Gisele was available and you got her I'd send Scientology Ninjas after you.
I took a long time deciding who to start things off with. Having the first pick meant I could have anyone and Gwyneth just kept coming back to me. I regretted not getting her last year and figured it was her time.

She has been my epitome of sexy ever since Great Expectations, and I swear she just gets sexier every day.
Y'know, Kirb, you're lucky Alba is the second hottest babe on the planet; otherwise, I'd be forced to send the Unitarian Samurai after you.

Her in that green outfit from GREAT EXPECTATIONS is king cobra. Check the pictures thread. The topless one MAY be a fake but I hope not.

Damn you, Carl.

DAMN YOU.

Would she have been your first rounder, Davis?
Thanks for posting the pic, Nick. I have one I am going to post, but I gotta wait until I am not at work to hunt it down.
I'm not trying to start shit here, so please don't take this the wrong way... buy I am genuinely baffled by all of the Paltrow worship all of a sudden.

It's cool, though. To each his/her own...
Answer: Like Lex Luger, Paltrow is the total package.
Girls born in the 80's is a fucking great tagline, Kirby.
I'm cutting this one short, because I know I'm out-numbered right now.

Let's just say I disagree with almost every fiber of my being.

Damn, Nick! Nice pic of Alyssa Milano! The shot of her in the white dress is giving me the shakes.

Tindalos, you punk. Connelly is a perfect 1st rounder, and I believe she was going to be Nick's first pick. Well, if not his, she would've been mine.

Good pick. Don't let it happen again.
yes, Milano was one of my top choices.

and now Connelly is gone as well...

bitches left.

oh, and i must concur with Carl on the Paltrow confusion. i don't think she is by definition unattractive, i am just personally not attracted to her.

i am, it would seem, in a minority.

Hehe... I came to play.

We're not really in the minority, trust me. We're just probably in the minority ON HERE.

we're probably gonna wind up with a few people in the draft who signed up but aren't around now...

I don't know about that, Carl. Most magazines leap at the opportunity to feature Paltrow as a cover gal because she spikes newsstand circulation, and I don't think it's because people want to read what she thinks about celebrity, dating Ben Affleck and how September 11th affected her fashion sense.

That said, she's never cracked my personal Top 10, but she'd probably be somewhere in my Top 20.
Nice Beaks. Big fan of Virginie.

Interestingly, in the Daily News gossip column today there is a pic of Paltrow and Ledoyen sitting together at a Paris fashion show.
I suppose call7001 has been emailed and informed that if he doesn't pick in a couple of minutes, he will be stuck with the corpse of John Merrick (graciously on loan from Michael Jackson).

Is this true?!?!? So those of us that are not scheduled for the first 1/2 of the First Round have to wait until Monday to pick? I call Bullshit!

Tough Tits, Tom!

Our readership shrinks considerably during the weekends and nobody should be penalized for not being able to draft on a certain time over the weekened.

Wrong. While she may still be the "it" girl for fashion and...ahem.. WOMEN'S magazines, when was the last time you've seen her featured in pubs like Maxim, Stuff, or FHM, where it's all about the testosterone? Yet Alyssa, Alba, and others are in there about 37 times each. And don't give me the "she's too classy to do that" silliness. The reason is simple (and it uses your own circulation example against you): the hotter chicks are the ones who sell the men's magazines, and the one's with "something interesting to say" are relegated to COSMOPOLITAN.

Exactly, but if she did ever get off her high horse and give Maxim a call, I'm sure they'd bump whichever B-list celeb they'd booked for that month right off the cover.
In Stew terms, Gwyneth is "pretty", but not "sexy". And sexy is what's gonna count in my draft.
Damn Nick! Why why why why??

Stew mopes away dejected as Nick steals his number one hottie
post #44 of 97
Well, I can honestly say that with the current picks of Ziyi, Portman, Alba, Connelly and Ledoyen, my depth chart is officially FUCKED!

I will now begin selecting the shattered remnants of Bill Bixby's corpse as my first choice.

Oh, and an extra "fuck you" goes out to Shelby for getting Zhang in the first round. Thanks.

Forlani, damn. Good picks thus far.

Well, your DEPTH chart may be fucked, but your DEATH chart seems robust with that pick.

If it's any consolation, those remains were my sleeper pick, so I'm screwed.

Credit to the crew for the taste. Certainly beats last year when Terry Farrell, Gillian Anderson, Anna Paquin and Sela Ward were early first round selections.

hey, leave gillian out of this!
