STAR WARS MOVIE CAMPAIGN

Thread Starter

In 1977, director George Lucas created an exciting science-fiction film called Star Wars.

He has left the world waiting breathlessly for a sequel.

I have begun a petition at the 20th Century Fox website, in the hopes that they will afford Lucas the opportunity and the budget to continue his incredible saga.

Can you imagine how incredible a continuation of the Star Wars adventure would be using today's amazing special effects technology?

They could assemble the original cast-Harrison Ford has become a big star since the original film-he made the great Raiders of the Lost Ark (wonder when they're gonna' make Raiders of the Lost Ark 2?). He would be great as Han Solo again.

I have created a fan site to chronicle the grassroots efforts of the devoted Star Wars fans who demand a sequel.

Go to www.starwars.com , sign the petition, and check out what's going on.

You have no idea how stupid this idea is! You indignant dolt! Taking a masterpiece and trivializing it with a modern sequel would just ruin it!

Imagine what would happen. Lucas, being so out of touch with REAL filmmaking, would end up killing of the small but devout fanbase his orignal work had garnered.

Computer-enhanced effects would be awkward in appearance and horribly out of place. The audience would long for the simple days of rubber masks and clver puppetry. Imagine digital creature effects! If we learned anything from "Dragonheart", its that copmuter characters are by no means a replacement for "real" creatures and characters.

Such an outing would be the mark of death for the keystone of a once-chershed movie library for the hundreds of loyal fans across the midwest.

Next you'll be suggesting some kind of petty "re-release" a la "The Exorcist" (which I admit also needs no sequels ever made). The idealistic flimaker that brought us Star Wars would certianly not stoop to such ends. A sequel is unthinkable.

There are other films to push for. Invest your time in healthy, modern day franchises, such as "The Mummy". By channeling your fervor in such a direction, you will find yourself pleasantly surprised by the results.

Let go of this foolish attempt to rape the dead. If you can't handle my reply, then maybe you should leave these boards.

A final thought:

As wise old Ben (?) from Star Wars would say, "May the force go with you."

P.S. Your "fansite" is a joke.

As much as I hate it, I am only here to bring threads to a sudden, painful, seatbelt-locking halt. Sorry to do this to your nice thread here...

What do you no, grubass?!! Starwars was a sucessful film for it's time, your just jealous cuz your a stupid, ignorant AMERICAN.

Kenny Baker is helping to raise awareness, and to get a feature film sequel off the ground at fox. He has an idea to base it on the second season of the popular TV show Droids.

And rumor has it that if Fox refuses to re-negotiate the rights, Paramount and Universal are waiting in the wings to make the film.

Are you the same grabass that posts at 20th Century Fox message board? If so-I hate you, fox hates you, and even George Lucas himself has no respect for you.

Star Wars WILL be on the big screen again some day.I hope it happens just to spite gnorant americans. This forum should be closed. This topic is over. I'm not coming back here anymore.

Reasons why Star Wars sux...

1. Cause it sucks
2. Cause I said it sucks
3. Cause we all agree it sucks
4. Cause my Mom says it sucks
5. Cause Kenny Baker says it sucks
6. Cause Carrie Fisher sucks
7. Cause George Lucas' writing sucks
8. Cause the toys sucks

Take your pick. All are reasonable points...

Jumpin' Jesus on a pogo stick, what next?

It wouldn't surprise me if someone turned up with a campaign for an Automan movie at this point.

Oh, I know who Jan Michael Vincent is. I know his acting. He was good, but not that good in Hit List.

He is the poor mans Jeff fahey. Jeff Fahey can play Han Solo in Star Wars II if they can't get Harrison Ford.

Star Wars II? That's the lamest idea I've ever heard. I mean, didn't the Empire blow up in the Death Star? Besides, that movie is so dated now...I agree, Lucas would never do it. I don't know, maybe Luke and Han could team up with Kirk and Spock or something! Now that would be cool!
