Which franchise has held up evenly over the series the best?

Only two films, but undoubtedly it's Terminator.

Any others come to mind to you folks that stay pretty good and pretty even over the franchise?

My feelings on Star Wars and Episode One are quite clear at this point.

Terminator 2 lost the heart and soul found in the first one. And I have still yet to be convinced that Linda Hamilton is playing the same character.

Temple of Doom is infinately better then the crap that is Last Crusade.

Back to the Future can be spliced together into one movie.

Same can be said for The Evil Dead Trilogy.

And most of The Planet of the Apes films...

Evil Dead.

I'd go with Evil Dead, Star Wars and Terminator. While displaying varying degrees of quality, they still, thematically, are very well integrated and made.

If there ever was a movie conceived purely for franchisehood, it would be Buckarooo Banzai. But, alas, this is not so especially when you consider other drek-like franchises out there.

Fuckers.

The Evil Dead series seems to be the only series that keeps getting more and more popular as the years go by. Heck, they've even made a video game recently for those great flicks. While Back to the Future, Indianna Jones, and Star Wars are still more popular, it seems that their popularity has reached their boiling point already. Sure, the new SW episodes will draw in new fans, but for a low budget series like Evil Dead, it seems like more of a success to have survived all these years than the mega-budgeted Star Wars movies.

I gots to go with Poxy and his claim of Where the Boys Aren't.

That, or Michael Ninn's Divas and Divas II.

I'll say James Bond. Five actors, 19 movies, over the space of 39 years. That's pretty impressive. And I serious think that Dalton's and Brosnan's films are alot better than most people give them credit for even if most of them are not exactly up there with the best. I'd still say EON has maintained a fair level of consistent quality. Sure some have been weak, but even the weakest Bonds, I feel, are still very fun.
