Toys You Had As A Kid And Wish You Still Did...

Easy.

TRON lightcycle. Some dipshit older brother of a pal of mine at the time stole the shit with my Flynn figure inside and blew it up for his high school film class.

The look on his face still haunts me today.

The other one was the GI Joe aircraft carrier that I bought off a friend of mine in high school. I say it's one as I set fire to it while it was on my patio and videotaped it.

Which got me six months lock-up in Pescadero.

Yours...

All of my Masters of the Universe Collection-I had EVERYTHING up to SNAKE MOUNTAIN (I was never down with the Horde-but I did have the Slime Pit).

I had every Sectaurs toy.

I had all of the original Star Wars toys, the bogus troop transport with sound effects, the mail-away display, and the cantina.

My brother destroyed all of it.

Get the impression that a couple of members of my immediate family family suck ass?

My dad threw away all eight original G.I. Joes, their weapons, their jeep, and the MOBAT-something about teaching me a lesson about keeping 'em off the kitchen floor...

Metlar, Tendri, and D. Compose: The Inhumanoids.

Had a bunch from the Secret Wars line. I had a nearly paintless Spider-Man, a Doc Ock with only two of his four mechanical limbs (not the same ones, either), A beat-to-Hell-and-back Captain America, a not-bad-shape Doc Doom, and a mint condition Kang. Save for Kang, no accessories.

Got the Tower of Doom (mint condition) off the shelf about SEVEN YEARS after the line had been discontinued. SWEET.

Also had a few figures from the Justice League. Red Tornado, minus cape. Firestorm, Robin, errrmmm...Brainiac (the Terminator-lookin' one...and my all time favorite DC figure, The Green Lantern (with ring-swingin, fist-clockin action, baby!)

And all my GI Joes, of course.

All of my little one inch metal star wars figures that went with my Hoth Playset. I wish I still had the coolest vehicle ever: the GI Joe Dreadnaughts swamp vehicle/jalopy.

Transformers, Masters of the Universe, Legos, GI-Joe, Star Wars.

Pretty much all of em.

I miss all my Transformers, the DinoBots were my favorite for some reason, but to tell you the truth, I like my NEW toys a lot better then the old ones I had. Probably because I love blood and guts way too much.

I miss my Jem and the Holograms dolls, and all my GI Joes. Sniff, must go cry now.....

Don't remind me about mail order GI Joes...sniff.

I wanted the Sgt. Slaughter mail away sooo bad when I was little, so my Dad and I collected all the UPC's we needed and we both filled out the form and I put the fucking letter in the mailbox myself! and I never saw that figure, I was a very sad little girl.

I also miss my Strawberry Shortcake dolls too.....

You KNOW you want to touch it.....

God damn did I have a major jones for Kimber when I was only a lad.

You really can't blame me.

Anyway, I actually still have most of my shit including the Joes and He-Man. Some Joes died in the line of duty like Quick Kick and Torpedo though.

And Creech, I have Fridge Perry. Maybe we can barter for services of some sort...

TB, I know what yer talkin about. My dad got that freaky green thing along with Thunder Punch He-Man. Over the years, he has taught me the secrets of mastering the Thunder Punch...and so much more. We have lived. We have laughed. But above all...We have loved.

HEAR ME NOW, THUNDER PUNCH HE-MAN!! DJEVIL LOVES YOU AND NO OTHER!! FOREVER YOU WILL REMAN IN MY HEART!! THIS I VOW!!

I'd like to have ALL of my Hot Wheels back. I have no idea where the bulk of the collection went but they have gone. And I had some real collectables.

i wish i still had Hugo, the Master of Disguise. mostly because no one else has ever heard of it. it was basically a creepy bald puppet that you could glue scars, mustaches, wigs, glasses, etc. onto

i also had an army set called Beachhead Invasion, which came with two tanks and soldiers whose arms and waists pivoted

What ever happened to those little muscle men that you could get?

They came in a small tube or something and they were made out of flexible rubber.

Those were cool, and they were small enough to take to math class and play little wars while the teacher was teaching algebra.

I want my Thundercat toys back from whatever bastard bought them from my parents at a garage sale.

Another cool toy were GUTS. They were really nice tiny army soldiers about 2 inches high. There were four series; the ninjas, the commandoes, the green berets, and this team of futuristic guys. Damn, those were wicked.

I'm with you on the GUTS front, Cap. Those were indeed some very fine playthings for a short while. Never got the futuristic ones though. But when Mattel went back to producing that size figure with the aborted Cyper Force and Judge Dredd lines, I was there in a heartbeat.

And B-Love, those things were called M.U.S.C.L.E.s and the tube was a garbage can. They came flesh color or in a few neon colors in 4 packs, a nine pack in the can, and in boxed sets. A ring was also marketed with special color variants they were only available with it.

I love those things even if they were the forerunner to Pokemon...

Ok, help me on this one:

They were the same size (and articulated the same) as GIJoes. The came with helmets and staffs nearly twice their own size. On the staffs and on their chests, they had holograms of different animals. I can NOT remember what the hell they were called.

But my dad got me this one battle vehicle for the series (may have been the only one) that was bad ass. It had a rear wheel like a steamroller, was black and red, shaped kinda like a shoe, and had a huge tazer-lookin thing and an extending battering ram. Came with an exclusive and equally bad ass black and red figure. That deadly duo conquered all my other toys in a deadly crusade for my April O'Neal figure.

TMNT!

I wanna say those were Visionaries...
Visionaries! Of course! Hells yeah.

And Johnny, one Christmas, my dad cracked open his wallet and bought ever single TMNT figure we didn't already have...except...Krang. That slippery little bastard had vanished from every toy store shelf in the city, I'd bet.

The year before that, it was the Rambo line with the bad guy's bamboo tower...I forget the name of it...and a BUTTLOAD of weapons and extra stuff...

The year before that, the Chuck Norris line. The car, too. Though, the Red Ninja was always my favorite for some reason.

OH-THE RAMBO BAMBOO FORTRESS!!!

I sold that thing for more money than I've seen since...

Dave, I remember Hugo. I didn't have one, and never asked for one because truthfully that little bastard puppet scared the hell out of me. He was just messed-up looking.

As for what toy I wish I still had? My Evel Knievel doll with motorcycle. Probably too old for most of you, but this thing kicked ass. The motorcycle was pretty heavy and had a flywheel inside it that kept it pretty well balanced. You'd put Evel on his motorcycle, attach the motorcycle to the launcher (a hunk of red plastic with a crank handle about as big as one side of it), crank the launcher up to huge speeds and off Evel would go. That cycle was freaking fast, and never fell over on a straightaway. You'd set up horribly impossible tricks for Evel to try to complete, and he'd eat it every time. But that doll and motorcyle never ever broke. Man I loved that thing.

All right, Dave, this is for you and anybody else that you're trying to explain Hugo to:

G.I. joe, Star Wars, and most of all, at the very top of the heap, the original Kenner Alien doll. I think the thing was 18" tall, and the coolest toy ever. Scary stuff to give to a kid, but I loved it until the arm broke off and we sold it in a garage sale.

Why don't they make more stuff like this?

Same here.

And they do still make board games like that.

However the greatest game of all time was the Leading Edge game based on Aliens.

Those they don't make anymore...
