A Song a Day...

Thread Starter
In case you haven't heard PKG stuff, I'll update this thread once a day with a new tune. If you can, take a listen and say things.

WARNING: Some of this stuff will be older and crappy. Live with it, at least we tried.

Today, because UGB asked...

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/nail.mp3" target="_blank">NAILS</a>
post #2 of 50
Starting off with a classic. First PKG tune I heard. Now I'll have to dig out my copy of The Sea of Problems for the ride to work this morning.
Still one of my favorites. I would commit felonies to hear this live.
Thanks Nick, truly an unappreciated classic. Very old-school sounding, always reminds me of music from movies like "Demons" or "Return of the Living Dead". I guess you consider that a complement, being compared to The Cult and what not.

It sounds as though the final track is compressed a little high, you might wanna try compressing the original again. Maybe cutting the bass down a bit, that might help it from clipping.

All and all, good stuff, just like I remembered. Thanks again.

Today, <a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/lasttransmission.mp3" target="_blank">LAST TRANSMISSION</a>
post #6 of 50
A great intrumental. Also a great outro to <a href="http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/cds/160/160162.html" target="_blank">The All-Devouring Beast</a>, an album everyone should purchase.
I fucking love Last Transmission. Fitting it into my ten minute short somewhere...

Fitting that this thread is getting less love than a leper in Provo, but here's the next:

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/theoneyouwant.mp3" target="_blank">THE ONE YOU WANT (new mix)</a>
post #9 of 50
What's all that stuff in the beginning? Not a big fan of it.

Aside from that intro, is anything different in the mix? The vocals seem a bit clearer, but maybe I'm trying to hear things.

But yeah, I love this tune. My favorite out of all of the PKG and LN stuff.
I dig Nails and Last Transmission is really cool. The One You Want was a fave but I also don't like that stuff at the beginning.

More songs please, sir.

I think the new intro is cool. And it's fitting this song is up with Spring Break next week. This song sounds like a classic Spring Break tune.

Ghosts 'n' Goblins!

Actually, it was the original intro to the song. However, the final version of the song will NOT have it.

Just to keep the massive interest going:

<a href="http://www.chud.com/package/music/hotcorner.mp3" target="_blank">Hot Corner</a>

Just listened to Parole and Hot Corner. Great stuff. I love the heavy guitar and Nick's vocals. I especially love some of the effects on the vocals in Hot Corner.
Hot Corner was good little rocker. I liked the vocals and whoever played the guitar in the song deserves kudos.
Today's choice - a little curveball here for you:

<a href="http://chud.com/package/music/approach.mp3" target="_blank">Imagination: The Approach</a>

You never mentioned that Package was scoring a John Carpenter film! Well done, I like it.
Parole is a classic. I've never heard Hot Corner before. What album is that from? It's a solid rock tune, I liked it. And the piece from Don't Worry... was interesting.
Hot Corner is from "When Chains Attack!"

It's my goal to debut a new song by Monday. I think Micah's a bit anxious for you all to hear it.

We'll be here, with our ears on.
A long-awaited Ode to Christophe?
Imagination was a good and interesting tune. Sounded like music out of a horror movie.

It is!

"I Like Spikes"...Ah, nothing like a some doo-wop with an edge to start off the weekend. A really fun tune.
"I Like Spikes" was a cool song. Who came up with the idea for a song like this and what was their influence?

Steve came up with the music, I came up with doo-wop lyrics about an impalation fetishist.

Todays song:

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/fademeout.mp3" target="_blank">FADE ME OUT</a>
post #34 of 50
Good song. The guitar work is great and the lyrics are good also.
Spikes: Wow! Vintage 50's sound with a horrifying twist. I love it! I especially like the ending...fade and then a final doo-wop send off. Very funny stuff.
Fade Me Out: Ack! Here is where I wish I knew more about music from a technical standpoint so I could have something more intelligible to say! I really liked the heavy guitar and the intensity of the vocals. The lyrics were really great too. I always like Nick's voice at extremes. This song is at the top of the list for me.

Killing Utopia has got me wanting to hear some more old PKG. That's a good thing.

It's nice to finally hear the song I've seen referenced so many time here. A fun ode to everyone's favorite sensei. The "Welcome Back, Kotter" refrain at the end is neat, too. I can only hope for a Barbarino tribute in the future.
Fun song and a great ode to Mr Miyagi. The "wax on, wax off" stuff was funny as hell.

Fun song and cool lyrics. I love that closing guitar solo at the end. Action Jackson would be proud if he heard this.
Action Jackson is the best song written from the POV of a sex toy ever!

True but I wonder if the sex toy is actually named Carl Weathers?

That was hysterical! Great fun and a rockin' little tune as well. I dig the 70's guitar!

Nope. What you hear is what you get. May I recommend you go listen to the totally hip White Stripes instead?

That guitar solo in the fadeout is ON.
