TRAIN RIDE HOME, new from PKG!

Here's another remake. This was a song I did by myself about 8-10 years ago and then we did it for GHOSTS HARM HUMANS about 7 years ago. Now, it's done for the last goddamn time. Hope you like it. Jam/funk tune:

TRAIN RIDE HOME
(words - N.N. music - A.W. N.N.)

A metallic shine in the blink of an eye and the mystery unfolds
what is beyond, is there something wrong, what does the future hold
the age old question you take to the grave in hope of seeing more
is the ride over, has the ride begun, is it the same ride as before

A foregone thought as the coin goes in and the meter starts to tick a metronome
the hourglass sifts the sands of time and you glance out the window on the train ride home
a perfect time to figure out the puzzle that has no pieces
such a simple riddle yet so bizarre and the brainstorm never ceases

Get on the train

In the magical shine of a thinking eye as the gears begin to turn
and the body goes cold and the coal for the soul has no more need to burn
a portal opens and it all seems real and possible to hold
a vice tightens and the brain falters, the body's getting old

In a final gasp in a last ditch hope religion seems to make more sense
but you've spent your life thinking and you need a way out so it serves as your defense
what was an open mind is now a closed door and the key makes its final arc
you've locked yourself in an empty room and the sky is getting dark

Get on the train

Drums - Micah Robinson
Guitar - John Makarewicz
Bass - Steve Murphy
Guitar - Andrew Wylie
Vocals & Keys - Nick Nunziata

I like this track. It had the right mix of the things i like in songs. This song is something I would pop on at a friends house.

Sounds like a fusion of PKG and the Nightsticks. I imagine because of Makarewicz's contributions. A solid track with some good lyrics and musicianship.

The more I listen, the more I like this one.

I wasn't crazy about "I Won't Be There," but this song is great. Love everything about it. Good stuff, fellas.

I like this one, too.

J Mak is always great on the guitar. Love the funk.

Doesn't sound as "busy" as I Won't Be There, which is obvious even though it sorta worked for that song.

All instruments in the song come together nicely.

Does anyone remember the old versions of this tune?

Nice and funky. I really liked this one. The guitar and vocals really stand out. I'm trying to get caught up on my listening, more comments to come.
