This Faded Day

Believe what you want to believe in these times of trouble
When it all seems broken and choice is all but dust laden wind
I know the other side holds the promise of a slate anew
But I know you never took the easy way so why start now

Rearview carry this faded day, on my mark
Seal us up tight in your warm and false security

Taste the vapor exhaust dissipating away, there’s no glass to measure now
I know fear and I know love I know they’re one and the same
I know the other side is free of all this pointless discussion and debate
So brave the pain and take my hand, we’ll face it together

Rearview carry this faded day, on my mark
Repair us with the gift of no lingering memory

Rearview carry this faded day, seal us up tight in your warm and false security
All we need to do is bury this faded day repair us with the gift of no lingering memory

Micah - Bass, Guitar
Steve - Drums, Guitar
Nick - Words, Keyboard Solo

Excellent. Really can't ding it for anything (especially the solo about 2:50). Great job musically and with the vocals.

What a great song. The lyrics are great and the guitar and drum work are excellent. The vocals and that keyboard solo were the standout things about the track. The vocals were near perfect for a PKG song.

This track will definately be on loop when friends come over. Great work Micah, Nick and Steve.

NICE. Hooray for the continued absence of vocal effects. This is an all-around great song. I particularly like the solo. Excellent work, guys.

Love it. Moody and atmospheric. I'd buy this CD.

Thanks guys. This is a really solid and accessible tune. If only people ventured into this forum!

Well heck... I'm gonna give my honest opinion. It's an opinion... so don't agree with it... just accept it as one person's foray onto a forum where leaving their opinion is encouraged.

1) The fact that you offer free tunes (and not just 15 second samples of the good parts) on your site is awesome.

2) I love the jangly-reverb guitar (are you usin' a Zoom 505? I've got one... I love makin' similar jangly reverb real loud... Pink Floyd style. Plucking one string... real loud... with reverb... you can sound like a rock god in the comfort of your own home!)

3) I don't love what sounds like a Zoom 505 applied to the vocals. It emphasizes strained harmonies and vocal peaks that us mere mortals not blessed with a vocal range from beyond our planet (like the guy from A-Ha...the official band of the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics by the way....mwahahahaha) can't get away with (unless processed by very expensive equipment which us mere mortals don't have unless we've signed a deal with the devil like Avril Lavigne).

I really think the time and effort and creativity you folks put into the tune (and the lyrics) is buried underneath some not so creative digital effects. I'd like to hear a version of the song minus the effects... and more punch in the vocals. Who cares if you can't sing like Chris Isaak... crank it out and showcase yourselves! (I just played Sultans Of Swing... Mark Knopfler does NOT have an amazing voice... but you listen to what he has to say/sing because he MAKES you want to listen... jangly guitars, less than stellar vocals and all)

4) Thanks again for the opportunity to sample one of your tunes (I'm gonna go dig through the site to find more) and a forum for feedback!

5) Okay...this is a movie site...I gotta say one more thing. Picked up the special edition of Cop Land today... very excited to watch it tonight after work. Does your band agree with Ebert's TWO STAR review? Perfect example of an opinion that should be taken as just that... an opinion.
