THE ALL DEVOURING BEAST

Hey guys,

THE ALL DEVOURING BEAST is on the way! I know some of you dig our old stuff, and some are on the fence. This is our best album yet and we REALLY need some folks to hunker down and nab a copy off MP3.com. They'll have full color packaging, lyrics, and CD-ROM enabled features. Also, it'll be the first CD under our psuedo new name PKG. To avoid comparisons with other bands, we shortened the name a tad.

There are sadly no "joke" songs on this album, with Miyagi moving over to our remakes record... but there's some strong stuff here.

Unless Micah or Andrew have a gripe with this order, the track listing will be as follows:

Fade Me Out
Starscream
Sunspots
It's Only Pain
Goodbye Picture Show
Forget to Breathe
Eyes Don't Deceive
New Kind of Therapy
Grappling With Skeletons (The Rising)
Mongorr the Impressionable
Smacked With Motorcycles
Who Goes There?
Little Bird
Collecting Mrs. Chonks
Nurtured to Extinction
Last Transmission

Each of the above songs will have a new mix and polish before they go live, and here's the first few...

Little Bird

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/littlebird.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/littlebird.mp3</a>

Punched up all the tracks, gave it more "oomph", lowered the bass a bit, split the backing tracks left/right, punched vocals, punched guitar solo.

Forget to Breathe

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/forgettobreathe.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/forgettobreathe.mp3</a>

Gave it more "oomph", deleted the first few guitar notes (per Andrew), punched guitar up, punched bass up, brought drums up considerably, punched vocals

It's Only Pain

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/itsonlypain.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/itsonlypain.mp3</a>

Brought bass up (per Andrew)

Sunspots

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/sunspots.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/sunspots.mp3</a>

Punched it all up, gave keys a little reverb so they didn't just cut off, punched drums up

Goodbye Picture Show

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/goodbyepictureshow.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/goodbyepictureshow.mp3</a>

Gave vocals more presence, punched up whole song

Who Goes There

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/whogoesthere.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/whogoesthere.mp3</a>

Lowered bass a bit, punched up vocals

Eyes Don't Deceive

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/eyesdontdeceive.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/eyesdontdeceive.mp3</a>

Cleaned it up, maximized levels

Collecting Mrs. Chonks

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/collectingmrschonks.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/collectingmrschonks.mp3</a>

Gave the song a thicker mix, lost reverb after verse, amplified "Chonks" line, brought guitars up, brought bass up

Fade Me Out

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/fademeout.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/fademeout.mp3</a>

Added a growl for the last verse, punched up the music, and cleaned vocals up

Smacked With Motorcycles

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/smackedwithmotorcycles.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/smackedwithmotorcycles.mp3</a>

Punched EVERYTHING up

New Kind of Therapy

<a href="http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/newkindoftherapy.mp3" target="_blank">http://www.chud.com/demo/adb/newkindoftherapy.mp3</a>

Punched up vocals and backing vocals

Great stuff, my 2 favorites would probably be Little Bird and Sunspots. At some point, I don't know when, I may pick this up.

Good stuff. Micah, hurry up and approve the listing, you cocker.

As soon as the CD is available at MP3.com I'll do my part and order a copy.

First time I heard Goodbye Picture Show I felt the vocals needed a little boost. Much improved. By the way - the link in your post is for Little Bird. (I guessed at the link for Goodbye Picture Show).

I quite approve, damnit!

When you come home from conquering the world on CNN tonight, Nick, this record is a go.

Cool!

As soon as I can afford, a purchase (probably the entire PKG catalogue) will be made.

Just listened to this its entirety today with the newer mixes.

This is...

BY FAR...

The best thing PKG has ever done.

No kidding. Just awesome.

And I feel that it's totally due to the infusion of fresh songs and fresh blood on this record. John Makarewicz made a couple of appearances. So did you, Andrew. I played more drums. Nick played way more keyboards than on any other record. The majority of the songs were new collaboratively-written ones.

And that means Package 4 (the next record after the upcoming "cleaning out the closet" remakes record) - the first full record of the new lineup - should be just as good, if not better. I'm psyched beyond belief.

I'm fucking psyched.

I'm listening to this CD at work and I come to the conclusion that I have heard one of these songs on the radio already. Catchy tune.

Then I realize that I haven't, it's just that I've been playing the CD all day long at work on auto-replay.

Great job guys.

(By the way, the song was Starscream)

Bump... Cesar, doesn't LITTLE BIRD sound pretty radio ready?

Found, bought, and ordered. Goodness on the way.

The cover is eeriely reminiscent of a picture I made over a year ago for a poem titled "Regression". Here is the link to the pic:

I shit you not, this is a rather interesting coincedence...

Actually, I think many of them are radio ready. "Last Transmission", for example, would be great, too, but I don't know if they would play an instrumental only song, though.

Sunspots was nice to listen to at 4 am in the office the other day. Weird,I know, but the melody seemed to fit my mood at the time.

Weird. Your link doesn't work.

The image is a bit of photo art I bought of a Piranha. I flipped it over, ran color corrections and VOILA!
