STARSCREAM
(lyrics: Nunziata - music: Nunziata, Robinson, Murphy)

Sounds of pain in the living room, more black and blue
mother's wearing sunglasses

paint is chipping on the walls, where brother falls
hide until father passes

You've always talked about a better life
well, it's time to take you there
who's the answer to all of your prayers
he's jetting on through the air
Starscream is his name, changing is his game
all you need is equilibrium

Choking back tears underneath the sheets, hands balled to fists
wait just a little longer

years of struggle and pain, go down the drain
little boy's growing stronger

You've always talked about a better life
well, it's time to take you there
who's the answer to all of your prayers
he's jetting on through the air
Starscream is his name, changing is his game
all you need is equilibrium

Vocals & keyboards: Nunziata
Drums & backing vocals: Robinson
Guitar and backing vocals: Murphy

Nick says: Leave it to me to turn a song about my favorite Decepticon into a song about rising from the the depths of child abuse. Essentially it's something that shows up in a lot of the stuff I write both musically and in my 2,103 other ventures... having imagination and creativity through the rough times until you can rise above it. Musically, it was a keyboard riff (the chorus riff) that I didn't think would end up on a Package song but Micah liked it and we jammed to it. Steve added the progression between the chorus and verse and it came together. I love this tune.

Hell yes, a comment!

The new record is not all like this. In fact, no two songs are alike. Do you mean the keyboard stuff, the way it's sung or what?

Gee, here's a creepy little tune. A lot of the song reminds me of very early Pink Floyd, without the ridiculous lyrics (I've got a bike? What the fuck?). Anyway, I can get into the groove of the song, especially the chorus, but I trouble hearing the verses with the heavy voice effects.

that's actually an older mix. I'll upload the new one soon. I also have a much better mix of Forget to Breathe and Goodbye Picture Show waiting.

Weird timing... I just finished watching Disc 1 of the TRANSFORMERS Season 1 box set and was in the mood to listen to the Package tune devoted to the erstwhile Decepticon.
