From Dan, the coach of my other team...

Hey Guys,

Just want to let you know that we are practicing on Sunday @ 11:00 AM at North
Park. I know we have some new players and a solid core of old players returning
from last year. Please let me know if you will be able to attend. I might have
a team that we can scrimmage against out there. Positions are going to filled
up fast. I know that we have 2 slots in the outfield, possibly shortstop or
third base open. We also need a first baseman, pitcher and catcher. I have
three new guys that I invited out there and they will give it a go. This also
will be a joint practice with the Punishers (Nick's Mon-Wed team) so we can have
a full fielding practice. So, please show up or call me to let me know.

I would LOVE to be there...BUT...being Elizabeth's b-day this weekend, we are utilizing the baby-sitting powers of my parents and making Sunday "Movie Day", where we will see as many movies Sunday as possible.

But North Park is extra close to me, so please let me know the next time. And I can play any of the positions Dan is looking for (P, C, 1B). I'm better at 1B & C. My arm tends to get a bit tired as the game goes on as P.

The Bulldog Club plays in a much more competetive league. I'd recommend you warm up with the Punishers, Tom.

As for the Punishers, we need a few speedy and talented outfielders. My field looks a little unfleshed right now:

1b-Dan Kelly
2b-The Nunz
ss-John Klinger/Jon Housknecht
3b-Ryan Murphy/Jon Housknecht
p-Dennis/Tom/Dan
c-Tom/Mike Swartz
OF-Steve Murphy/Andy Martin/Todd Nichols/Mike Swartz

Definitely looking for the "we're not in it for the glory" team. That's why I've mostly played on coed teams...they tend not to be too serious. I'd like to play outfield, but as I said (and have shown at practice), I can't judge a fly ball for shit in the outfield. Catcher is fine with me.

PRACTICE IS AT 11 at NORTH PARK. My other team will be there as well. WE NEED FOLKS TO SHOW UP.

Den, can you get John to come (with a cup this time)?

Unless something comes up, I will NOT be there on Sunday.

And unfortunately, we won't be at the next coffee meeting either (2/23). Elizabeth is spending that week (the 18th) in Charlotte w/ her mom, and I'm leaving on the 22nd to bring her back on the 24th. AUGH! Two coffee meetings in a row missed! I won't know how to act!
