If anyone's interested, I think it's time to start the nighttime feeding frenzy. I also think we should chip in together to treat Steve since it's his birthday on the 15th. Just a suggestion.
I like special places, but it can be cost prohibitive. I'm going to list my first 5 selections and a guess on the cost per human being. Please don't select restaurant by location, instead on menu and the fact it's a change of pace. Also, I think this first one should be CHEWERS ONLY. It's a work night but if Chewers want to come to my house afterwards for a flick it's cool by me.
I know it's kind of short notice, so if we don't get much interest I'll understand and postpone.
Thursday, April 18th:
1. Stoney River Steakhouse (Medlock Bridge, Alpharetta)
UNBELIEVABLE FOOD. The best lobster bisque ever crafted. Amazing huge portions of steak, ribs, fish, pork chops, and these little hot balls of bread that will bring you to orgasm.
Low End: $20-25 per person.
I pay: $30-40 'cause I get a glass of wine
2. 57th Fighter Group (P'tree Dekalb Airport, Chamblee)
GOOD FOOD, AMAZING ATMOSPHERE. Made to look like a WWII air base, there's sandbags and army vehicles all over and old big band music playing. A really special place with a beer cheese soup that'll knock your stool loose.
Low End: $15
3. Rocky's Brick Oven Pizza (P'ree Rd. Buckehad)
We've gone here before (recently actually, where Steve's Long Island Iced Tea whupped his ass, and damaged Jen as well), but it's a vital part of Atlanta. Great outdoor seating and their Bianca Antonio Pizza (potatoes, chicken, and red onions) is the bees knees AND cock.
Shouldn't cost more than $12 unless you get sauce.
4. Altobeli's (Haynes Bridge Rd. Alpharetta)
Italian food, plain and simple. I have a long history here, as i was one of their head waiters for 5+ years. Great food, great people (Iranians!), and loads of great stories. Excellent food.
Price: $15-20
5. Buckhead Backlot (P'tree Rd. Buckhead)
Kind of a cop-out, but it's a movie theater too! Film choices include: The Sweetest Thing, Changing Lanes, Blade II, Panic Room, Ice Age.
Price: $20 (with ticket)
