JASON X Screening

All the passes were mailed (except for SPLAT's which I'll have with me so you're sure to get them).

Who plans on coming?

It's at that Parkway Pointe theater tomorrow.

I'll be there. I think I'll be there rather early- anyone doing anything beforehand?
I'm undecided and I don't have a pass.
Damn.

I was wondering when the screening was gonna happen. Tomorrow is the last day I have to finish this monster project I have been working on for the last week. I am going to do everything in my power to try and be there, though.

Dennis, not having a pass is no excuse. With as many as there are planning on going, somebody can get you in!

Hester, shall I bring The Anniversary Party?
That would be supercool, but it looks like work may be interfering with my attendance.

I have spent the last week & a 1/2 working around the clock editing a video that is going to be shown at a pre-trial hearing that takes place on Wednesday morning. So, tomorrow is locked in as the finishing day. If I can convince my clients to work through the night tonight to get this thing done then tomorrow night I will be free. However, they are the most unprepared producers I have ever worked with (It is 2:00 pm and they haven't even shown up for our edit session that was scheduled to begin at 10:00 am) and I really foresee a ton of last minute revisions happening through tomorrow night.

So, short answer. If you bring it, don't be super surprised if I end up missing the screening. However, if I do make it I will return your Harry Potter (and Matchstick's Extraordinary Gentleman book.) I'm sorry to have had y'alls book and dvd for so long. I promise I haven't forgotten about them.

You know, I am going to be severely disappointed if I miss the Jason X screening. I mean, this is easily my most anticipated theatrical experience in years, and work is trying to interfere.

Damn, sorry about the long winded post, but I thought you guys deserved a bit of an explanation as to why I missed the last 2 coffee meetings and dinner.

It's 5:20. I'm at work. I'm going to be here for a while. It's virtually certain I'm going to miss the screening. If I ever get to see any of you again, please put a bullet in my brain and end my misery. Thanks.

I LOVED this film.

Yes, it's just a Jason film, but it's a really FUNNY Jason film.

I'm waiting for a single line in ANY movie this year to top what Sgt. Brodski says to Jason during their first encounter. I died laughing at that one!

It just flat out entertained me almost every second of the film.

Hey Guys!

I'm still at work (since 10:00 am Tuesday 4/23).
I'll hit the 24 hour mark before I'm finished.

I guess I missed the screening.

Glad you liked it, Micah.

JESUS. 24 hours? No more complaining from me, then. Glad to hear the movie was good, and, Hester, godspeed.

Turnout was disappointing. That theater is a curse on screenings although a few Chewers like it for purely selfish reasons.

The worst thing: I told the AJC guy that we get a great crowd and he shows up to a lame one for this.

Jason and Will,

sorry you guys couldn't make it. Like Nick said, the theater was pretty much half-empty. Plus, I sat it front of this gal who MST3K'd the e-n-t-i-r-e movie. That's hard to do with a movie that pretty much exists to make fun of itself, but it's especially hard when you ain't funny at all. Hope you guys can make the next event.
Sorry, Nick, but you can't say anything bad about the theater.

The Time Machine screening there filled THREE HOUSES at the same time. That's how many theaters were needed to contain everyone.

I had to run from theater to theater to do the CHUD spiel.

In this case, the culprit was the film. Jason movies aren't the most popular to begin with right now, and the fact that most true fans already have or have seen this on video or VCD doesn't help either.

Besides, the theater's great:

1) It's becoming an AMC theater
2) They have self-service so that no matter how slow the concessions people are, you can still get your snacks in prompt order.
3) It's clean, modern, and well-kept.

Tell that to Katie, as she said they get more negative feedback from patrons about that theater than any other.
That's a head-scratcher.

It's centrally-located, rarely makes technical snafus, is clean and well-kept.

And for the right film, everyone and their mama comes out.

I wonder what the complaints are about?
Probably just people griping about the location. It is kind of out of the way for some people, but so are all the other theaters. Can't please all the people all the time.

The screening was lots of fun, despite the bad turnout.

I love that theater. My only gripe is that they still sell those little bottles of water instead of the nice big litre sized bottles.
Maybe whatever they're griping about will change when it changes to an AMC theater. Personally, I like that theater better than Galleria or Delk 10, and those were always the other options for me in that area. It's easy to get to, though, if you take the exit on 75 that leads right to it.

The screening was fun. It's a pity that there wasn't that many people, but I guess it was to be expected. Plus, all the advertisements that I saw made me groan.

It was a fun movie. I laughed so hard during some scenes. It totally made fun of itself, which was fun. Although, the jokes started to get really old near the end. I was looking at my watch until the last hologram scene started, then it was full out laughter until the end. (Or maybe from the android part right before that.) Of course, some of the fun was because it was so blantantly and unapologetically bad.

Thanks Jen! EVERYTHING is out of the way for me and this one forces me to drive though downtown ATL to get to it. Haven't been there, but am coming next week for the Hollywood Ending screening, so I'll give my review of it after that time. Have been meaning to check this theater out for months though, as this is where the Peachtree Film Society hosts most of the gigs and I have yet to make it to a single one, most likely due to the location.

It is a very good thing that it is changing over to AMC. If only they would buy out Carmike, so that I could use my Moviewatcher card again on a regular basis at the local theater.

Stayed away from this one, as I watched the video and it sucked along with the picture quality. This is just not my genre. The guy I gave the pass even said it sucked!
