Something based on Shadowrun.

That was a great RPG back in the day, I'd love to see some good Shadowrun stuff come out. Honestly, I think they tried a little bit of it in Johnny Mnemonic, but come on...that movie doesn't deserve a Superbit version.

I'd love to see Shadowrun done as a weekly series on HBO or Showtime. Season One would be the Universal Brotherhood and end with the Cermak Blast in Chicago. Season Two would be the presidential election and end with the assassination of Dunkelzahn. Have those major storylines running in the background and focus on a couple of recurring characters each week and you'd really have something.

If I recall, this was one of Nick's picks for the Oooooollld thread "What would you make if someone gave you $50M to make a movie?".

And I couldn't agree more, save that I would be tempted myself to make a RIFTS film. But what the hell, I just think they're both hella-filmable RPG franchises.

So far, it's just "negotiations", but you know this would rock if done right...

Nice, but I still want Shadowrun.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

If Dungeons and Dragons would have been GOOD and very successful, we would already have a slew of gaming-related movies to fawn over.

I seriously blame that shitacular movie on the fact that gaming movies will probably never be made. Look at what X-Men and Spiderman did to the realm of comic books...D&D had the chance to open Hollywood up to the gaming world, and they fucking BLEW it.

Personally, I think a 3rd War for Armageddon movie, as in the Warhammer 40k campaign, would rock. I doubt anyone here knows what I'm talking about, so you'll just have to trust me. Like that's gonna happen...
Yeah, but only if da Orks win . Da 'oomies ain't ded 'ard like we is.

Shadowrun is such an easy pitch: The Matrix meets Lord of the Rings! A

The TV show idea sounds awesome, but the chances of it lasting more than a season are slim and the chances of it not sucking are even slimmer. It would need a huge budget and really resourceful effects guys to pull it off right.

And why the hell haven't they made a new videogame for it yet? With graphics today, the possibilities are incredible. I would actually love a First Person Action Adventure Shadowrun game more than a movie. Though I suppose Deus Ex was a pretty good version of Shadowrun minus the magic.
