Movies based on *really* classic games

Thread Starter
I was cruising around the Video Games section of the message boards and got an idea: With all kinds of computer games being made into movies, what if some of the really classic games were made into movies. For example:

-Robert DeNiro is PACMAN-

"Robert DeNiro plays special FBI agent Paco Manilow, Pacman to his friends. He is just about to bust a large drug syndicate when he is captured by crimelord "The Ghost". The Ghost holds Paco responsible for his brothers death and plans a terrible revenge:
Paco is injected with a slow-working poison which will kill him in 24 hours. The Ghost considers himself a sportsman, though, so he gives Paco a chance...
An antidote is hidden in one of the 1000 peas that are distributed evenly in a big underground maze. That means that in order to survive, Paco has to eat all of the peas in the maze while dodging The Ghosts henchmen. All kinds of excitement and action follows."

Now you write the pitch for Burger Time or Pong.

That was fucking hilarious! You shoulda said ensues instead of follows though. Ha ha ha ha. Comedy would have undoubtedly ensued.

How about a movie based on RISK? Or better yet, Jerry Bruckheimer Presents: "Stratego: The Movie"

Tagline for Risk:

"who needs art school ... the game of world domination beckons."
Actually if you were just to film a table of nerds playing Risk I think that would be great. Especially if one is a sore loser and pulls the "Atom Bomb" move.

Wow. I never knew that Shakespeare based Othello on the board game. Maybe his theatre company had bought the rights and wanted him to adapt it for the scene.

Anyone remember the game Tapper? Where you had to serve beers and collect empty glasses? It always seemed wierd for a kid's arcade game to be sponsered by Budweiser and be centered around beer.

Still, it'd make a great movie. One of those underdog heads to a championship of sorts and wins it type ala Over the Top. A beer serving tournament movie perhaps titled Cocktail II: The Reckoning.

(Trailer voiceover with Bill Murray. Not Bill Murray the actor. This is the voiceover guy.)

In the future...

(Space shot of Earth. Several derilect satallites drift through the shot. A news report can be heard in the background "As worldwide blackouts continue, the UN today proposed yet another...")

Earth's resources are running out...

(Shots of desolation on Earth. Automobiles rusting away. Crumbling cities lit by firelight.)

Humanities last hope for survival lies with one ship...

(A small ship attached to several large booster rockets shoots away from Earth orbit.)

In a desperate gamble to to find energy for the entire world, a small group of miners head towards the asteroid belt...

(The small ship, detached from the boosters, is using a large beam weapon to cut through a large asteroid. Several people in EVA suits hover in the foreground. "We found something!")

... and awakens an ANCIENT EVIL.

(Black screen. As the title appears on screen in blood red letters an evil metallic voice is heard eching...)

"I AM SINISTAR!"

SINISTAR

Things just went from bad to worse.
