what ideas do YOU have for plot and casting?

here are some of mine.

Samual Jackson - Roadblock
Jet Li - Storm Shadow
Jeremy Irons - Cobra Commander
Rebecca Romijn-Stamos - Scarlet
Bruce Campbell - Duke
Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett) - Firefly
Hugo Weaving - Zartan (comic book version more then cartoon version)

Since Snake-Eyes never talks and is masked ALL the time there would be no need to cast an actor - just hire a stuntman.

I would mainly concentrate on Storm-Shadow and Snake-Eyes with alot of Scarlet and Cobra Commander storyline

Sam Jackson is too old as RB, Micheal Clark Duncan seems more of a fit.

Jeffrey Combs is more suited as the CC. The actor needs to be a shrill, weasely mofo and Combs does that better than anyone me thinks.

Famke Jansen works better as Scarlett. Corse Famke works better than most things anyway so...

The rest I can live with.

Way, way off.

General Hawk - Kurt Russell
Duke - Howie Long
Flint - Bruce Campbell
Scarlett - Nicole Kidman
Stalker - Wesley Snipes
Roadblock - Christopher Judge (Stargate SG-1)
Gung Ho - Jean Claude Van Damme
Shipwreak - Antonio Banderas (his name is Hector Delgato...)
Lady Jaye - Dina Meyer
Quickkick - Jason Scott Lee
Beachhead - Michael Madsen

As for Snake Eyes...Jet Li in the suit when not facing Storm Shadow...and Thomas Jane when he's wearing his "human" mask...

Cobra Commander - Mark Hamill
Destro - Samuel L. Jackson
Baroness - Catherine Zeta Jones
Zartan - Johnny Depp
Major Bludd - Hugo Weaving
Storm Shadow - Jet Li
Firefly - Donnie Yen

I'm tired. But that works...

if i was making ANY movie Van Damme would NOT be anywhere near it
post #5 of 15
God damn I love me some Django right now. That's a stellar list.

And just so I can say it before anyone else..... GO DJOE!

Yeah, lose Van Damme and see if you can get The Governor of Minnesota to take some time off from his day job.

And if you can't get Banderas - Jason Lee (as in Chasing Amy) would rule the world as Shipwreck.

Tomax and Xamot = Christian Bale

If you should choose to go that route (which I wouldn't recommend), Jeremy Irons would be great as Serpentor. I can just hear him saying, "THIS...I command!"

Dreadnocks are a tough call. I could see Hugh Jackman as Torch perhaps...

Actually you're right about Van Damme. There's a better role for him later on as you'll soon see.

Now it stands as...

Gung Ho - Stone Cole Steve Austin

He has the intensity and physical stature. Plus, he'll be cheap which is good in these kind of films.

And I was wrong about Kidman as Scarlett. In order to keep continuality I know believe she should be played by...

Julianne Moore

That way the original Joes are the older ones.

Some more for later films...

Dusty - Jason Lee
Spirit - Adam Beach
Lt. Falcon - Ben Affleck
Jinx - Kelly Hu
Chuckles - Jack Black

Dr. Mindbender - Ron Perlman
Tomax and Xamont - Jean Claude Van Damme (come on, they were pompus dorks...)
Zarana - Kylie Minogue (turning into evil Street Fighter here...)

And as Serpentor...Hugh Jackman...

i'd have to agree with Gung Ho by Austin
that is ALOT more fitting
but Jason Lee as ShipWreck? that doesn't make sense to me. I'd only make ShipWreck a cameo anyways so i'd pick someone else. Lee could be someone else better. Hell make HIM Zartan.

Julianne Moore works good as Scarlet but i'd still rather have her in her late 20s type.
Tomax and Xamot don't even show up in MY script - neither do Serpentor OR Dr.Mindbender.
Nemesis Enforcer would - only because he was one of the best all time villians - but only as a small bit for forshadowing of later on

Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness, Maj Bludd, Storm Shadow, Zartan and Firefly are the main badies
and
Snake Eyes, Jinx and Scarlet would definately be the main heros with heavy support from Duke, Roadblock, Flint, Lady Jaye, and maybe Gung Ho. Jinx should be played be Ziyi Zhang (the girl from Crouching Tiger and Rush Hour 2)

God...if only this were so...maybe when fellas our age become 'establishment' Hollywood. Well...here my toss into the casting pool.

Snake-Eyes - Ray Park

How about directing duties? McTiernan?...Scott(pick one)...Alden Robinson?...

Hmm. Yet another nostalgic franchise I need explained to me. I do remember the G.I. Joe animated movie. I thought it kicked some ass.

Really? The movie sucked compared to the comics and the regular cartoon. I mean, Cobra Commander gets turned into a snake? WTF?

COBRA-LALALALALALALALALALAAAAAAAAAAAA!......I don't think so, Tim.

If Jonathan Price was more buff, I think he would make a good Destro. I think he has what it takes to be the leader of Trans-Carpathia, and damn if Catherine Zeta-Jones wouldn't be the best Baroness.

Snake Eyes - Jet Li
Storm Shadow - Donnie Yen
Firefly - Robin Shou
Mercer - The Rock
Duke - Mel Gibson
Cobra Commander - Christopher Lambert (only because the voice fits prefectly)
Roadblock - Michael Clarke Duncan
Firefly - Kiefer Sutherland (he never shows his face, so he really only needs a cool voice)
Jinx - Zhang Ziyi
Lady Jaye - Ashley Judd
Flint - Christian Bale
Zartan - Michael Wincott
Zarana - Pink (provided she can act)
Beachhead - Kurt Russel
Thrasher - Bruce Campbell
Destro - Clancy Brown
Stalker - Wesley Snipes
Scarlett - Famke Jansen
Rock 'n Roll - Bruce Willis + Beard
Lt. Falcon - Don Johnson (hey, why not? he did do his voice in the animated movie afterall)
Tomax & Xamot - Brad Pitt
Shipwreck - Jason Lee
Major Bludd - Hugh Jackman (and he's even Australian!)
Gung-Ho - Jesse Ventura (only if he can speak with a Cajun accent, which is probably not likely)
Dr. Mindbender - Ron Pearlman
Baroness - Milla Jovovich
Tunnel Rat - Steve Buschemi
General (Toma)Hawk - Alec Baldwin

I was reading Django's list thinking it couldn't be more perfect, and then I saw Mark Hamill as Cobra Commander.

He proved he had the chops facing off with Bats. It's perfect. GREAT choice.

I remember quite a bit of G.I. Joe, but I'm not a complete expert. Here's some picks of mine, and I think this could be an amazing flick. How has Hollywood not started this yet?

General Hawk- Older guy, ultimate American type, still a badass. [b]Robert Redford[/b[]

Flint- Mel Gibson

Duke- George Clooney The cool badass good-loking soldier type. He played this character very well in "The Peacemaker".

Cobra Commander- I could see Nicolas Cage doing a great job with this twisted evil, snivelling villain.

Serpentor- Arnold Schwarzeneger has the look, the voice, and the sort of ultimate man persona. But I love the suggestion of Hugh Jackman as well.

Storm Shadow- Chow-Yun Fat must play him. Older more experienced guy. Badass to the extreme.
