A couple of years back a friend and I talked about writing a script for the time honored WOMEN IN PRISON genre.
But we realized neither of us knew the first thing about scriptwriting, so it was always just talk.
But we had a plan to make this the ultimate chick behind bars movie.
We were gonna hit ALL the major cliches involved in these movies:
1.An innocent railroaded into prison because of a set-up, or a drug dealing boyfriend
2.The sadistic dyke of a warden who uses the prisoners for her own nefarious pleasures
3.A prostitution ring being ran out of the prison.
4.Gang rapes in the showers
5.Lesbianism....wall to wall
6.A conspiracy to overthrow the warden and her gang and escape

and so on.

We wanted to make it with big stars in the usual roles for a WiP movie.

The innocent.
The seemingly tough pal of the innocent who turns out to have a heart of gold
The Warden
The horrible prison guards (except for one who gets killed while trying to help the prisoners)

You get the idea.

I'm telling you, if this ever got made we're talking box office GOLD!

They don't necessarily have to be A-list stars, but this is who I would enjoy seeing nude on screen for long periods of time:

Angelina Jolie
Denise Richards (her acting skills matter not)
Jessica Biel

Ok, A list might be asking a bit much. I would settle for some quality B listers.

Don't forget the catfights, I doubt A-list stars will go anywhere near this but lower A-Class actresses might take a look. I've been wondering the same thing. If it came down to a cast list I'd probably go with:
Kirsten Dunst
Eliza Dushku(Both these chicks like to play girls so why not)
Salma Hayek(I think she could have fun with this)
Lara Flynn Boyle

All that wishful thinking casting up there is entirely plausible when Tarantino decides that his Grindhouse 2 sequel is a Women In Prison Movie.

Pam Grier will get the warden role, though.

There are 2 big profile Argentinian movies about this subject matter.

The first one is almost 30 years old, and it's called "Correccional de Mujeres". It's mostly a B movie with lots of nudity.

The second one is a new release of this year, which was submitted for oscar consideration by Argentina. The movie is called "Leonera". And it's a drama about a woman that goes to prison and how she deals with her pregnancy and her baby. Moving stuff.

I enjoy the film BROKEDOWN PALACE, it's kind of like a nightmare version of THE BEACH. Very scary stuff. It features Claire Danes and Kate Beckensale as jolly American vacationers who become ensnared in the treacherous Thai legal system. Only Bill Pullman can save them. It's worth checking out



PS It's my dream to see a combo sequel to the BEACH and BDP where Richard (DiCaprio) and Ms Danes go on island adventures

Things I love about this thread:

Ah, well, it's not a genre with which I'm intimately familiar, so BDP was the only example that came to mind.

It's a worthwhile movie though, like TRANSIBERIA it hammers home the hidden dangers posed by charming accented foreigners (both films spotlight the frightening consequences that can result when drugs being planted on vacationing Americans)

PS I just realized that this thread is crawling with NSFW content, and seeing as how I'm AW, I am officially outta here.

I don't know if anyone is interested but there is a new edition of Female Prsioner Scorpion that just got released. The Scorpion movies out of Japan (the first 4 anyway) are probably the best WIP films I've seen. And it's a subgenre I...like a lot. I also reccommend the absolutely BONKERS Women in Fury. That thing is just all kinds of wow.
