Rumor was that a sequel was written, and it was eventually turned into "Big Trouble In Little China".

The rumour is incorrect. My little bird tells me Big Trouble was originally written as a western then adapted by W.D. Richter into the this beautiful movie you see on your TV screen this fine warm day, mmmm.

Rumour also had it that Jack Burton was to be written into Against the World Crime League as a Blue Blaze Irregular, which is good and right. Alas, 'twas not to be.

I have to confess that I thought it was clever too.

Can you imagine how much Against the World Crime League would cost? I say wait until the rest of the cast is willing to work cheap again, and then use the savings to make a sweet deal for the rights to the stuff.

That's the hangup, isn't it? Property rights?
